
Tourist attractions Braulio Carrillo National Park
Known as the lungs of San José, Braulio Carrillo National Park is one of the parks found in the Central Volcanic Conservation Area, the second biosphere reserve in Costa Rica. The main tourist attraction is the great variety of indigenous birds that live in the park, thought to number in excess of 500 species. There are also reptiles, amphibians, bats, anteaters, jaguar and pumas, to name a few. What's more, over 6,000 plant species can be found it its mountains.
