It's time for an adventure Downunder! Pack your bags and head to your departure airport, ready for a flight to Sydney. Night on board.
Continue your journey to Sydney. Due to the time difference, you will lose a day on your outward journey but will gain it back on your return journey. You are not in-flight for two days.
Arrive in Sydney, one of Australia's biggest cities, known for its Opera House and vibrant culture. Transfer to the hotel by coach and enjoy the rest of the day relaxing after your journey or exploring the city.* A drink in one of the cafes and bars by the harbour waterfront is the perfect way to begin your holiday! Leave Sydney behind as you transfer to the airport by coach to catch a flight to Cairns, the famous gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and a haven of beaches, culture and laid-back living. Arrive and transfer by coach to the hotel. If time allows, enjoy the rest of the day discovering Cairns at your own pace. Why not get involved with the city's thriving cafe culture and spend the afternoon sampling some of the best coffee and barista creations at any number of trendy cafes that are dotted around the city, particularly around Grafton and Spence streets. *Optional Barossa Wine Region & Hahndorf Highlights: Travel to the world-renowned Barossa wine region, Southern Australia’s premium wine district. Your first stop is at the multi-award-winning Jacob’s Creek Visitor Centre, to sample their famous wines in a structured tasting and enjoy a tour of the surrounding vines and cellar door. Stop for tea overlooking the vineyards before continuing to Mengler Hill Lookout for sweeping views over the valley. Visit Lambert Estate in Angaston for wine tasting and a 2-course lunch. Pass by the Herbig Family Tree at Springton, a famous hollow tree trunk house, and continue to the picturesque Adelaide Hills and Hahndorf, one of the oldest German settlements in Adelaide. Here, visit Beerenberg Farm Shop to explore the range of products and take some free time to stroll through the town. Children (5-11 years).

*Optional Full-Day Kangaroo Island Wildlife Discovery: Set off early this morning to enjoy a scenic coach drive to Cape Jervis, taking in the views of the Fleurieu Peninsula. Board the SeaLink ferry for the 45-minute crossing to Kangaroo Island. On arrival, meet a local guide and tour several island habitats to see incredible Australian wildlife in its natural home. Visit Seal Bay, home to a sea lion colony, to get up close to these wonderful, endangered creatures. Stop for lunch at a natural bush property to enjoy a gourmet picnic with local wine and take a bushwalk or stroll along the beach. Afterwards, head into the island's interior to look for koalas, echidnas, wallabies and cockatoos. Later, see the iconic kangaroos of Kangaroo Island grazing on the open pastures before returning to the port to catch the return ferry back to the mainland. Arrive, transfer to the hotel by coach and spend the day enjoying cosmopolitan Melbourne at your leisure. We suggest visiting its lively centre to discover its cafes, bars and boutiques. *Optional Full-Day Great Ocean Road Excursion: Take a journey of a lifetime today as you discover the Great Ocean Road, one of the world’s most spectacular and naturally stunning coastal drives. Take in all the famous sights of the Great Ocean Road and look out for local wildlife. Visit the striking Split Point Lighthouse and the quaint seaside town of Apollo Bay where you can enjoy some free time to eat. Stroll through pristine forests before arriving at the iconic Twelve Apostles rock formation and Loch Ard Gorge. Return to Melbourne along the dramatic Shipwreck Coast.
