    Lisse is best known as the home of Keukenhof, a 32-hectare flower garden that produces millions of exemplary Dutch tulips every year. Lisse’s fertile, sandy soil led to the development of large estates that eventually specialised in growing tulips as their prices rose.Keukenhof, though only open in the spring months from March to May, is one of most-visited attractions in the Netherlands, with over 1.5 million visitors per year.
