Breakfast at the hotel. Today, enjoy a historical tour through ancient Athens. Begin with the Corinth Canal, the narrowest in the world and the longest civil engineering work in history. Continue to Mycenae, the city of the Atrids, one of the most famous of prehistoric times for being the cradle of the Mycenaean civilization. Visit the strategic enclave of the powerful Argolis. Its impressive ruins evoke the memory of this city-fortress from the 2nd millennium BC, "rich in gold" in the words of Homer. See the Cyclopean walls built without mortar and cross the Gate of the Lions, which is the symbol and the most photographed place in the city, to reach the Acropolis. Explore the entire archaeological site where the Royal Tombs, the Throne Room, the Great Court and the Treasury of Atreus are exhibited in the Archaeological Museum. See the remains of the Sanctuary of Asclepius, hero and god of Medicine. The beauty of the landscape and the harmony of its proportions have made the Theater of Epidaurus the most successful example of the Ancient world. It was rehabilitated in 1954, with a capacity of almost 16,000 spectators. It’s one of the best preserved from antiquity and was built with great mathematical precision and extraordinary balance, thus giving it exceptional natural acoustics for which it is also known (lunch not included). We finish the tour by crossing the Peloponnese and arriving at Olympia, the city where the Olympic Games began 3000 years ago. Transfer back to the hotel for dinner. Overnight stay in Olympia.
