1st Day: UK/Ireland - Panama City

Arrive at your UK/Ireland departure airport, ready for a flight to Panama City. Arrive in the capital of Panama, a metropolis of contrasts, home to the iconic Panama Canal. Transfer to the hotel and overnight stay in Panama City.

2nd Day: Panama City

Breakfast at the hotel. Set off on a guided walking tour of Casco Viejo, the oldest part of Panama City. See the most emblematic landmarks of this charming neighbourhood such as Panama Cathedral, Santo Domingo Covent and the National Theatre. Admire the impressive Bolivar Palace and stroll through the narrow 17th-century streets to Paseo Las Boveda, a waterfront walkway with views of Puente de las Américas where you can watch the ships lining up to enter the Panama Canal. Spend the remainder of the day exploring Panama City at your leisure. Overnight stay in Panama City.

3rd Day: Panama City

Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the day at your leisure, enjoying the city, or alternatively set off on an optional excursion to either San Blas or the Contadora Archipelago.* Overnight stay in Panama.

Optional Full-Day San Blas Islands Excursion: Explore some of the worlds most remote and pristine islands. Set off early in the morning along the Pan-American Highway towards the port of Carti. Board a motorboat and set about exploring these tiny untouched islands where you can snorkel and swim in the turquoise waters and relax amongst the palm trees on the shore. Traditional lunch included. Return to Carti and transfer back to Panama City. Note: You will need to take your passport with you. Shared service. 

* Optional Contadora Archipelago Excursion: Set off, by boat, to the paradise Contadora Islands, an archipelago around 30 miles off the Pacific coast of Panama. Here, paradise beaches and untouched wilderness await you. Relax on the beach, with parasols and sun chairs, and soak up the natural surroundings. Welcome cocktail and lunch included. Shared service.

4th Day: Panama City - David - Boquete

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to the bus station to catch a shared bus to the city of David. Arrive in David and transfer to Boquete, a beautiful mountain town, surrounded by lush rainforests and known for its colourful atmosphere and culture. Check-in to the hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring the natural landscapes at your leisure. Overnight stay in Boquete.

5th Day: Boquete

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, set off on an exciting hanging bridges excursion to discover the rainforests of Boquete. Enjoy breathtaking views of rivers, waterfalls and the Baru Volcano as you traverse a number of hanging bridges excursion within a private forest reserve in the Talamanca mountain range. As you cross suspension bridges in the tropical cloud forest witness the biodiversity and panoramic views of the rainforest. Follow 4.5 kilometres of treetop walkways and pass across six suspension bridges, accompanied by a local guide. Return to Boquete and enjoy the evening at your leisure, sampling the local nightlife or relaxing at your own pace. Overnight stay in Boquete. 

6th Day: Boquete

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy the day at your leisure in Boquete. Relax in the tranquil surroundings, explore the surrounding highlands or get to know locals in the town centre. We recommend enjoying an optional excursion to get to know more of the natural highlights of this region.* Overnight stay in Boquete.

* Optional Coffee Tour: Boquete is a world-renowned coffee-producing region so learn more about the process of growing and roasting the best brews at a local plantation. Enjoy a coffee tasting session and sample some of the finest coffee in the world.

Optional Baru Volcano Excursion: Leave at approx. 4:00-4:30 a.m. to climb the iconic Baru Volcano, the highest peak in Panama in a 4x4 Jeep! Venture through this challenging terrain, and look out for birds and other wildlife found along the way as you travel through the highland region of Chiriquí. On reaching the summit, enjoy some light snacks and spectacular views; on a clear day, you can see both the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Return to Boquete. 

* Optional Boquete Panoramic Sightseeing Tour: Tour the beautiful region of Boquete, including its beautiful cloud forest and magnificent coffee culture. Learn about local history and pass by beautiful natural features such as rivers, waterfalls and lush plantations during a 2.5-hour tour.

7th Day: Boquete - Boca Chica

Tuck into breakfast at the hotel before setting off for the idyllic beach resort of Boca Chica, situated on Panama's Pacific Coast. Boca Chica offers the pristine views of the ocean, abundant vegetation, picturesque white-sand islands and swaying palm trees. A small fishing village, today Boca Chica is home to some of the country's most beautiful beaches and resorts and is the gateway to the amazing Gulf of Chiriquí National Park. Arrive, get settled at the hotel and overnight stay in Boca Chica.

8th Day: Boca Chica - Gulf of Chiriquí National Park - Boca Chica

Breakfast at the hotel before setting off on an unforgettable boat excursion to the Chiriquí National Marine Park, to discover the incredible beaches, wildlife and idyllic natural environment. As you cruise through the Gulf of Chiriquí be on the lookout for monkeys, dolphins and birdlife. You may even be lucky enough to spot a whale, especially between July and October. Pass by uninhabited islands, snorkel in the clear waters and learn about the local wildlife. Return to shore and back to the hotel. Overnight stay in Boca Chica.

9th Day: Boca Chica - Gulf of Chiriquí National Park - Boca Chica

Breakfast at the hotel. Get a closer look at the wildlife of the Gulf of Chiriquí National Park today on an exciting kayak excursion. Observe the colourful coral reefs, home to tropical fish, mangroves and pristine shorelines as you explore the area on a kayak. Look out for sea turtles and dolphins as you explore at your leisure. Return to the shore and enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure, relaxing on the beach and enjoy the facilities of your hotel. Overnight stay in Boca Chica.

10th Day: Boca Chica

After breakfast at the hotel enjoy a fascinating insight into the local crafts as you visit the village of Horoconcitos, where the finest horse saddles in Panama are producedLearn all about the production of these important leather goods and the significance of horse-riding in the local culture. Here, horse saddles are produced in the traditional way using wooden frames and leather. There's only one way to really appreciate the quality of these handmade saddles, so after learning about the production process enjoy a horse-riding experience using one of the finely made local saddles. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to relax on the idyllic beaches of Boca Chica. Overnight stay in Boca Chica.

 

11th Day: Boca Chica - Panama City

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to the bus station to catch a shared bus back to Panama City. Arrive in Panama City, transfer to the hotel and spend the remainder of the day exploring at your leisure. Overnight stay in Panama City.

12th Day: Panama City - Night on board

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for a flight back to the UK/Ireland. Night on board.

13th Day: UK/Ireland
