1st Day: UK/Ireland - Night on board

Arrive at your UK/Ireland departure airport, ready for a flight La Paz.* Night on board.

2nd Day: La Paz

Arrive in La Paz, landing in the highest international airport in the world. Meet your guide and transfer to the hotel in vibrant La Paz, the capital of Bolivia. Once settled, head out on a half-day walking tour of La Paz, to discover the local neighbourhood and markets, guided by a 'lustra-bota' or shoeshiner! Meet at the cable-car station and be transported to the city's main cemetery before continuing to Fish Street MarketFlower Market and Uruguay Market, where all kinds of local products are brought and sold. Get an insight into everyday life from your local guide and experience the charms of Cholita Market, where many of the local ladies wear traditional clothing and sell colourful textiles. End the tour at the famous Witches Market for a look at the weird and wonderful traditional Bolivian remedies. The remainder of the day is free at your leisure. Overnight stay in La Paz.

3rd Day: La Paz - Uyuni

Transfer to the airport to take an early hours flight to Uyuni and on arrival transfer to the hotel. Today, enjoy a full-day tour of the Uyuni Salt Flats, an unmissable natural landscape. On the way, stop at the Train Cemetery, where the remains of 20th-century steam trains lay abandoned. Visit Colchani to observe the local salt extraction methods and the oasis of Incahuasi Island, filled with tall cactus plants. Continue the adventure at the pre-Colombian Pucara de Ayque Fort, in the foothills of the Thunupa volcano before enjoying some time on the dazzling salt flats, enjoying the reflections or the sea of white salt, depending on the time of year you visit. Picnic lunch in the middle of the salt flat. Return to the hotel and overnight stay in Uyuni.

4th Day: Uyuni - La Paz

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, transfer to the airport for a flight back to La Paz. Arrive in La Paz and spend the day at your leisure in the city, relaxing at your own pace of exploring the city sights and getting stuck into the local cuisine and culture. Overnight stay in La Paz.

5th Day: La Paz - Puno

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer from the hotel to the bus terminal in the northern part of the city centre. Embark on a scenic bus journey to Puno, through the Andes highlands and across the Strait of Tiquina. Reach Copacabana, home to an impressive colonial cathedral before arriving at the border town of Kasani, where immigration formalities for passing into Peru will be conducted. Cross into Peru and travel about the eastern side of Lake Titicaca, before arriving at the city of Puno. Transfer to the hotel and overnight stay in Puno.

6th Day: Puno

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart on a boat excursion on Lake Titicaca.  Visit Uros Island, located in the middle of the lake, where the Islanders are famous for their beautiful clothing, their incredible knits, and textile industry. There are 55 islands in total, with an average of two thousand inhabitants. The people of the floating islands make a living by fishing and hunting, as well as selling handicrafts. Return to shore, transfer to the hotel, and overnight stay in Puno.

7th Day: Puno - Cuzco

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Puno station to take a bus to Cuzco. Leave the station and start your journey on the bus to Puno and enjoy the marvellous landscapes of the South Valley of Cuzco. Visit Andahuaylas, a beautiful 17th-century church, featuring an impressive organ decorated with angels and cherubs. Continue on the road and visit the ruins of Racqui, also known as the ´Temple of the God Wiracocha. After lunch, discover La Raya, the highest point on the highway between Cuzco and Puno for amazing views of the landscape. Arrive in Cuzco and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in Cuzco. 

8th Day: Cuzco - Machu Picchu - Cuzco

Breakfast at the hotel. An exciting day at Macchu Picchu awaits you this morning as you set off for the train station to board the Expedition Train to Aguas Calientes, admiring the landscape along the way. Arrive and transfer to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Machu Picchu, a true wonder of the world and one of the New Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Spend some time discovering the ruins and being amazed by the terraces and enjoying a tour of the different sections of the site. At the indicated time, transfer to back to the train station for your train back to Cuzco. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in Cuzco.

9th Day: Cuzco

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a day at your leisure in Cuzco, exploring the lively plazas of the historic city or perhaps visiting some of the numerous museums and cultural institutions. We recommend soaking up the local culture, shopping for souvenirs or simply relaxing in one of the colonial plazas. Overnight stay in Cuzco.

10th Day: Cuzco - Lima

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for a flight to Lima. Arrive in the Peruvian capital and transfer to the hotel. Lima is known for its cosmopolitan atmosphere, colonial buildings and for being the gastronomic centre of the country. We recommend sampling some traditional Peruvian Ceviche in a local eatery! Overnight stay in Lima.

11th Day: Lima

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, enjoy an informative and interesting city tour of Lima, including its Historic Centre, Plaza de Armas and the Santo Domingo Convent. Start by exploring the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro before heading to the Historic Center. Visit the impressive Convent of Santo Domingo and walk to the Plaza de Armas to admire the exquisite colonial architecture that surrounds it. Next, stop in the Parque del Amor, from where you can take beautiful photos of the Peruvian coastline. Overnight stay in Lima.

12th Day: Lima - UK/Ireland

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for a flight* back to the UK/Ireland. Arrive in the UK/Ireland and end your trip.

* If either your outbound or inbound flights depart in the early hours (before 4:00 a.m.) you must arrive at the airport the night before the indicated departure day.

Please note: During rainy season (January to March) roads can be affected by bad weather. Uyuni Salt flats are flooded and access to Tahua or Incahuasi might be difficult or impossible. The itinerary may change due to these reasons.
