1st Day: Canada - San José

Arrive at your Canada departure airport, ready for a flight to Costa Rica.* Touch down in San Jose and transfer to your hotel. Once settled, the remainder of the day is free to explore the city's atmospheric plazas and characterful colonial-era architecture. Overnight stay in San José. 

* If either your outbound or inbound flights depart in the early hours (before 4:00 a.m.) you must arrive at the airport the night before the indicated departure day.

2nd Day: San José - Tortuguero

Transfer to Tortuguero this morning, stopping along the way for breakfast. Pass through the exuberant Braulio Carrillo National Park before finally arriving at your hotel in Tortuguero in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a fascinating tour of Tortuguero, including the Turtle Conservation Museum and lively traditional village. Take a boat ride through the leafy canals back to the hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring or relaxing at your leisure. Dinner and overnight stay in Tortuguero.

3rd Day: Tortuguero

Breakfast at the hotel. Set off on a relaxing boat trip along the canals of Tortuguero this morning, admiring the abundant flora and fauna along the way. Return to the hotel for lunch. The afternoon is free at your leisure to explore further or simply relax at the hotel. In the evening, we recommend taking the opportunity to see turtles spawning on the nearby beaches of Tortuguero, an unforgettable experience (July - September). Dinner and overnight stay in Tortuguero.

Please note: Entrance to Tortuguero National Park is not included. Approximately $15 per person, to be paid at the destination. 

4th Day: Tortuguero - Guapiles - Arenal

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for the charming city of Guapiles this morning, arriving in time for lunch. Afterwards, continue to La Fortuna, in the shadow of the magnificent Arenal Volcano, one of the most important and spectacular natural sights in Costa Rica! Arrive at the hotel and spend the rest of the afternoon exploring at your leisure. Overnight stay in Arenal. 

5th Day: Arenal

Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the day exploring the area surrounding La Fortuna and Arenal at your leisure. Get out and about to embrace the natural environment, perhaps exploring the hanging bridges in the rainforest or hiking around the spectacular Arenal Volcano. La Fortuna is a fantastic base for all kinds of outdoor adventures, and the rich biodiversity of the surrounding rainforests is sure to leave you enchanted! Overnight stay in Arenal.

6th Day: Arenal

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day to enjoy the tranquillity of this beautiful natural environment. We recommend the optional horseback ride excursion.* Overnight stay in Arenal.

Optional Half-Day Horseback Ride Excursion: Set off on a scenic horseback ride to appreciate the beauty of nature and the sounds, colour and energy of the rainforest. Ascend to a viewpoint where you will have an impressive view of the Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal. Also, enjoy a brief walking tour to one of the park's suspension bridges. Lunch included.

7th Day: Arenal - San José - Guatemala City

Breakfast at the hotel. Say goodbye to Costa Rica today as your transfer to the airport to catch a flight to Guatemala! Arrive in Guatemala and transfer to Antigua Guatemala, a beautifully preserved city with an abundance of colorful colonial architecture nestled in the lush central highlands. Transfer to the hotel and overnight stay in Antigua Guatemala.

8th Day: Antigua Guatemala

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, enjoy a half-day tour of Antigua, considered one of the most beautiful colonial cities in America. During the colonial period, it was the capital of the Kingdom of Guatemala, which included the provinces of southern Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. After an earthquake in 1773, the city was abandoned, and the population moved to what is now Guatemala City. During the tour, see the most emblematic sights in the city including La Merced Church, Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral. Afterwards, enjoy free time to do a little shopping before returning to the hotel. Overnight stay in Antigua.

9th Day: Antigua Guatemala

Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the day exploring at your leisure. Go shopping for local artisan crafts, people-watch from one of the old town's charming cafe terraces or pay a visit to the chocolate museum to indulge your sweet tooth! Alternatively, why not head out of the city to hike one of the many nearby volcanoes or the popular Corazón de Agua trail, for fabulous views across the surrounding landscapes. Overnight stay in Antigua.

10th Day: Antigua Guatemala - Chichicastenango - Lake Atitlán

Breakfast at the hotel. Seize the day with an early morning visit to Chichicastenango Market, located in the Central Guatemalan Highlands. Famed for its incredible handicrafts, discover a rich array of local crafts as your browse this world-famous market. Visit the local Church of Santo Tomas, before transferring to Lake Atitlan, surrounded by three volcanoes: Atitlán, Tolimán and San Pedro. Its crystal clear waters and dramatic scenery make it one of the most beautiful destinations on earth. Enjoy a panoramic tour of Panajachel, a lakeside town known for its colonial old town, Mayan heritage and charming market stalls. Transfer to the hotel and overnight stay at Lake Atitlan.

11th Day: Panajachel

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a leisurely day in Panajachel to explore the wonders of Lake Atitlan. Why not take a boat trip to discover the numerous Mayan villages dotted around the lake's border or go kayaking for unobstructed views of the volcanic landscape? Other experiences to enjoy whilst staying in Panajachel include indulging in a traditional Mayan sauna, known as a 'Temescal', or shopping in the local markets. Overnight stay in Panajachel.

12th Day: Panajachel - Guatemala City

Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the morning at your leisure, taking in the spectacular views of Lake Atitlan for the final time. In the afternoon, transfer back to Guatemala City and get settled at the hotel. Enjoy your final evening in Guatemala exploring the city's street food scene or strolling through the capital's atmospheric plazas. Overnight stay in Guatemala City. 

13th Day: Guatemala City - Riviera Maya

Breakfast at the hotel.* At the indicated time, transfer to the airport to board a flight to the Mexican resort of Cancun. Arrive in sun-kissed Cancun, and transfer to your hotel on the Riviera Maya, to begin your stay on an All-Inclusive basis. Get settled and begin to unwind as you soak up the sea views and explore the facilities of your resort. Overnight stay in the Riviera Maya.

14th Day: Riviera Maya

All-Inclusive. Enjoy a laid-back day at your leisure. Relax on the beach and make the most of the excellent facilities at your hotel. Alternatively, don't miss the chance to visit one of the New 7 Wonders of the World with our optional excursion to legendary Chichen Itza!* Overnight stay in the Riviera Maya.

Optional Chichen Itza & Cenote Excursion:  Visit the legendary ruins of Chichen Itza, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World and a relic of the ancient Maya civilization. 15th Day: Riviera Maya

All-Inclusive. Another day in paradise at your leisure. Get to know the charming town of Playa del Carmen, home to quirky boutiques and a selection of bars and restaurants or simply spend the day sunning yourself at the beach. We recommend an optional visit to Xcaret Park, an excursion to the ruins of Tulum and Xel-Ha or an action-packed day at the Xplor Adventure Park!* Overnight stay in the Riviera Maya.

Optional 'Plus' Entrance ticket to Xcaret Park: A fun-filled day awaits at Xcaret Park, a sacred paradise in Playa del Carmen. With your 'plus' entrance ticket you can access all kinds of activities and sights, from the butterfly pavilion to the underground river, a number of natural pools, the coral reef aquarium and the tropical nature trail. 16th Day: Riviera Maya

All-Inclusive. Spend the day kicking back on the beach or sightseeing at your own pace. Why not pay a visit to the lively city of Cancun or find a shady spot on by the sea to while away the day with a good book? Why not opt for one of our optional excursions to make the most of the final moments in Mexico?* Overnight stay in the Riviera Maya.

 * Optional Catamaran Cruise to Isla Mujeres: Set sail to idyllic Isla Mujeres home to incredible coral reefs and tranquil white-sand beaches. Snorkel to discover the underwater world, enjoy an open bar onboard and at the beach club, tuck into a buffet lunch and visit the downtown area of Isla Mujeres. Please note: this excursion is not available on Sundays.

17th Day: Riviera Maya - Canada

Breakfast at the hotel.* Sadly, it's time to head home. At the indicated time, transfer to Cancun airport for your flight back to Canada. Arrive in Canada and end your trip.**

* Depending on the return flight schedule and the hotel breakfast service, you may not be able to enjoy the included breakfast on the last day.

** Depending on the choice of flight, you may arrive back in Canada the following day, making the total duration of your trip 18 days.
