1st Day: Canada - Night on board

Arrive at your Canadian departure airport ready to check-in for a flight to Johannesburg.* Night on board.

2nd Day: Johannesburg

Arrive in Johannesburg and transfer to the hotel. Spend the day at your leisure, perhaps exploring the city and its diverse and vibrant neighbourhoods. Why not get stuck into Jo-burg's food scene, with its pop-up eateries, trendy bars and restaurants? Furthermore, the city is a real cultural hub and a great place to catch live music performances! Overnight stay in Johannesburg.

3rd Day: Johannesburg - Mpumalanga - Kruger

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer by road to Mpumalanga. You're headed for Kruger, home to some of the most impressive wildlife in South Africa. Along the way, see some of the most iconic sights of the Panorama Route such as the Blyde River Canyon and the Three Rondavels (entrance fees not included). You're sure to fall in love with the natural beauty of South Africa's landscapes! * Arrive and transfer to the hotel to check-in. Spend the evening relaxing at your leisure, ready to explore the wilds of Kruger in the morning! Dinner and overnight stay in Kruger.

Please note: Today's journey takes approximately 7-8 hours by road and includes stops along the way for lunch (at own expense) and sightseeing. 4th Day: Kruger National Park

Adventure awaits as you set off on a full-day 4x4 game drive in Kruger National Park. Begin the day with an early morning safari in the southern area of the game reserve with breakfast on the go. This game viewing area is known as the 'Southern Circle' and is renowned for its populations of rhinos and lions. Continue with an afternoon game drive in Kruger National Park and discover the spectacular diversity of animals in one of the world's largest game reserves. Remember to bring comfortable shoes, warm and rainproof jackets, sunhat and protection and cameras to capture the beautiful wildlife! As the day draws to a close, return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Kruger.

5th Day: Kruger National Park

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a day at your leisure to explore the beautiful natural landscapes of Kruger and the White River area. If you'd prefer to get back out on safari, we recommend an optional day trip to Kruger National Park to experience more of its wildlife-rich eco-systems.* Overnight stay in the Kruger Region.

* Optional Kruger National Park Day Trip: Set off to the wilds of Kruger for your chance to spot the famous Big Five. Enjoy a slow drive through the national park, home to elephants, buffalos, giraffes, impalas, zebras and, of course, lions and spend an unforgettable day in the wilds of Southern Africa! 6th Day: Kruger - Johannesburg - Cape Town

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer by road back to Johannesburg, stopping to see the exterior of the Union Buildings in Pretoria, the official headquarters of the South African government. * Arrive in Johannesburg and transfer to the airport to catch a flight to Cape Town. Arrive in Cape Town, known as the 'Mother City', and transfer to the hotel. Spend the remainder of the day exploring Cape Town's vibrant neighborhoods and beautiful harborfront at your leisure. Overnight stay in Cape Town.

7th Day: Cape Town

Breakfast at the hotel. Get to know Cape Town today with a hop-on hop-off bus tour ticket! South Africa's capital combines cosmopolitanism, culture and architecture and is surrounded by jaw-dropping natural landscapes. With the hop-on and hop-off ticket, you can visit over 30 stops and tick off some of the most remarkable attractions in the 'Mother City'. Afterwards, use your Table Mountain Cableway ticket to ride to the top of legendary Table Mountain! From here, take in the spectacular views across the city and the Cape Peninsula. *Return to the hotel at your leisure and spend the evening exploring Cape Town's eclectic restaurants and vibrant nightlife! Overnight stay in Cape Town.

 

Please note: the Table Mountain Cableway in Cape Town will be closed for maintenance from the 25th of July until the 28th of August 2022. If your trip coincides with these dates, you will enjoy an included Sunset Cruise instead and your included Hop-On Hop-Off bus tickets will still enable you to visit the lower station of the cableway if you wish.

10th Day: Cape Town - Oudtshoorn

Breakfast at the hotel. Leave Cape Town behind as set off for the rural landscapes of the Western Cape. You're headed for Oudtshoorn, one of the most important towns in the scenic Little Karoo Valley. Founded in 1847, the city lies between the Swartberg Mountains in the north and the Outeniqua Mountains in the south. Oudtshoorn is famed for its South African ostriches and is home to a number of ostrich farms. Arrive in the afternoon and, once settled at the hotel, get out and explore this charming town at your leisure. We recommend an optional excursion to a local Ostrich Farm to learn more about these charismatic and interesting birds!* Overnight stay in Oudtshoorn.

*Optional Ostrich Farm Excursion:  Learn more about the world's largest bird at one of Oudtshoorn's local ostrich farms. Home to around 25,000 ostriches, visit the hatchery and take a tour of the farm to learn more about these incredible land birds. Enjoy getting to know these friendly ostriches and take the chance to get up close and feed them by hand! Dinner at the farm is included.

11th Day: Oudtshoorn - Knysna

Breakfast at the hotel. Leave the sleepy town of Oudtshoorn behind as you head east, driving down the incredible Outeniqua Pass, which offers stunning views of the beautiful scenery of the Western Cape including deep gorges, ravines and high cliffs. You're headed for Knysna, nestled between the towering Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean and one of the most famous towns on the scenic Garden Route. Surrounded by pristine forests, beaches and lagoons, arrive in the late morning and get settled at the hotel. The remainder of the day is free to explore the beautiful waterfront and pretty coastline of Knysna at your leisure. Overnight stay in Knysna. 

12th Day: Knysna

Breakfast at the hotel. Take a day at your leisure in Knysna. Why not enjoy a stroll along the waterfront to find a nice spot for lunch or pay a visit to the attractions on Leisure Island? We recommend an optional excursion to the Featherbed Nature Reserve to explore more of the unique landscapes and wildlife of this incredible region!* Overnight stay in Knysna.

*Optional Half-Day Featherbed Nature Reserve Excursion: Head to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, nestled on the coastline of the Western Head. Take the ferry across Knysna Lagoon and continue by 4x4 up to the headland to take in the spectacular views. Explore untouched natural environments of wild beaches and coastal forests on a 2.2-kilometer walk, accompanied by the insights of a specialist guide. Stop for lunch at the outdoor restaurant under a canopy of milkwood trees.

Half-Day Featherbed Nature Reserve Excursion
13th Day: Knysna - Port Elizabeth

Breakfast at the hotel. Leave Knysna this morning as you depart for Tsitsikamma National Park, famed for its ancient forests, tranquil rivers and pristine stretches of coastline. Part of the wider Garden Route National Park, Tsitsikamma includes a marine reserve that stretches 5-kilometers out to sea. Pay a visit to Storms River Mouth, where you can enjoy exceptional views of the sea, coastline and river mouth and stroll along the boardwalk to soak up the scenery. Cross Storms River on a 77-meter-long suspension bridge and visit another viewpoint before continuing your journey to Port Elizabeth. Arrive in the afternoon and, once settled, enjoy the remainder of the day to explore at your leisure. Port Elizabeth is a coastal city on the Eastern Cape, known for its creative culture and beautiful beaches. It's the perfect place to enjoy some downtime after completing the incredible Garden Route! Overnight stay in Port Elizabeth.

14th Day: Port Elizabeth - Johannesburg

Breakfast at the hotel. It's time to bid farewell to the beautiful Cape coastline as you transfer to the airport to catch a flight back to Johannesburg. Arrive, get settled at the hotel and enjoy your final moments in South Africa at your leisure, perhaps shopping for souvenirs or making the most of the city's vibrant nightlife. Overnight stay in Johannesburg. 

15th Day: Johannesburg - Night on board

Breakfast at the hotel.* Sadly, it's time to bring your journey through this beautiful country to an end. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for a flight back to Canada. Night on board.**
