1st Day: US - Night on board

Arrive at US departure airport ready to check in for a flight to Nairobi *. Overnight flight.

* If either your outbound or inbound flights depart in the early hours (before 4:00 a.m.) you must arrive at the airport the night before the indicated departure day.

2nd Day: Continue your trip to Nairobi

Due to the time difference, you will lose a day on your outward journey but will gain it back on your return journey. You are not in-flight for two days.

3rd Day: Nairobi

Arrive, meet your guide at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Nairobi. Kenya's capital and largest city, Nairobi is nicknamed the 'Green City in the Sun' and is a vibrant place where you can really get to grips with Kenya's diverse culture. This cosmopolitan capital is a great place to sample the delights of Kenyan cuisine or to hit the local bars or cafes to soak up the atmosphere of the place. Spend the remainder of the day relaxing or exploring at your leisure, ready to set off on your safari adventure in the morning. Overnight stay in Nairobi. 

4th Day: Nairobi - Amboseli National Park

Early breakfast at the hotel before heading southwards out of the city as you watch the landscape slowly change from urban metropolis to vast wilderness. Catch sight of distant Mount Kilimanjaro as you journey for around 4-hours through typical African savannah and past local homesteads and Maasai communities. Arrive at the lodge in Amboseli in time for lunch. Get settled before embarking on your first photo safari tour of the trip! Amboseli National Park is famed for its large herds of elephants and its dramatic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Experience captivating landscapes and get up close to incredible wildlife before returning to the lodge. Spend the evening relaxing at your leisure. Dinner and overnight stay in Amboseli.

5th Day: Amboseli National Park - Nairobi

Start the day early with a sunrise game drive through Amboseli National Park. After breakfast at the lodge, transfer back to Nairobi. Arrive and enjoy a free day to discover vibrant Nairobi. Maybe take a look at the Nairobi National Museum which gives you a taste of Kenya’s heritage. Additionally, you will find wonderful dining facilities, a beautiful botanical garden, and eclectic shopping facilities in the city. Dinner at Carnivore Restaurant and overnight in the hotel.

6th Day: Nairobi - Aberdares

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for Aberdares and enjoy lunch at Aberdare Country Club. The park contains a wide range of landscapes - from the mountain peaks that rise to 13,000 ft above sea level, to their deep, V-shaped valleys intersected by streams, rivers, and waterfalls. Moorland, bamboo forests and rainforests are found at lower altitudes. In the afternoon transfer to the lodge for an exciting night of game viewing! Dinner and overnight stay in Aberdares.

7th Day: Aberdares - Nakuru

Breakfast at the hotel. Leave Aberdares this morning as you depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, with a visit to Thompson Falls in Nyahururu along the way. Arrive at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon on a game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge in Lake Nakuru.

8th Day: Nakuru - Maasai Mara

Awake to the sounds of nature and enjoy breakfast at the lodge. Afterwards, depart for the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. Arrive at the lodge/camp in time for lunch and soak up the breathtaking views of the surrounding savannah. In the mid-afternoon, head off on a game drive in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, considered the world’s finest game viewing area! Keep your eyes peeled for the legendary Big Five: lions, rhinos, buffalos, elephants and leopards as you venture through the wild landscapes and watch in awe as the dramas of everyday life in the animal kingdom unfold before you! Alternatively, you have the option to split your game drives into morning and evening excursions. Tick the Big Five off your list as you enjoy some of the best game-viewing on earth and enjoy an authentic Kenyan safari experience! 10th Day: Maasai Mara - Nairobi - Entebbe

Breakfast at the hotel.* Leave the wilds of Kenya behind today as you transfer to Nairobi airport to board a flight to Entebbe. Touch down in Uganda and transfer to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure, relaxing or exploring the city for a chance to experience the local culture. Relax at your own pace, ready for the adventure that awaits you tomorrow. Overnight stay in Entebbe.

11th Day: Entebbe - Queen Elizabeth National Park

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, set off towards Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the most biodiverse habitats on earth! Encompassing landscapes of open savannah, rainforests, crater lakes and papyrus swamps this national park is home to almost 100 mammal species. These include lions, hippos, hyenas, leopards, elephants and a diverse range of monkeys and baboons! Arrive at the camp and spend a little while getting settled before heading out on an afternoon boat trip on the Kazinga Channel, for your first insight into the rich wildlife of Uganda! Watch the local hippos cooling themselves in the water as buffalos linger in the shallows. Spot unique birdlife such as pelicans, cormorants and the African jacana as you cruise along the scenic waterway. Return to the camp and enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure. Overnight stay in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

12th Day: Queen Elizabeth National Park - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Breakfast at the camp. This morning we recommend an exciting chimp-tracking excursion in the Kalinzu Forest* or simply spend some time at your leisure to contemplate the stunning biodiversity and wildlife of this region! In the afternoon, depart Queen Elizabeth National Park, headed for Kisoro, passing by the beautiful scenery of verdant hills and valleys of Kabala along the way. Arrive at the lodge, on the shores of Lake Mulehe, close to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and take in the spectacular views of the Virunga Volcanoes. Overnight stay at the lodge. 

Optional Chimpanzee Tracking Excursion: Head to the Kalinzu Forest in search of chimpanzees! Home to around 300 chimpanzees, wander through this rich ecosystem and, with luck, see playful chimpanzees in their natural habitat!

13th Day: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Early breakfast at the lodge. Awake early to set off on an unforgettable Gorilla tracking excursion in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Take all the necessary gear with you as you head into the mythical forests of Bwindi for one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth! Just 650 mountain gorillas are left in the world, so tracking can take between 2 and 6 hours, but it is well worth the effort. Professional park guides will guide you through the forest, explaining the lifestyles of the gorilla families and pointing out interesting flora and fauna. Once you've tracked down your group of gorillas, watch in awe as these majestic animals go about their daily lives, grooming, feeding and interacting with each other. It is an unforgettable experience to see gorillas in the wild! Trek back to base and return to the lodge, filled with unforgettable memories of today's wildlife encounters! In the afternoon you have the chance to enjoy a range of optional activities at the lodge, such as a village walk or boat trip on Lake Mulehe, which can be arranged and paid for at the time. 14th Day: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Breakfast at the lodge. Depart the magnificent landscapes of Lake Mulehe, headed for Kampala. Along the way, stop at the equator line where you can stand with one foot in each hemisphere! Arrive in Kampala, the Ugandan capital, and transfer to the hotel. Nestled on the shores of Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa, Kampala is home to a number of brilliant museums and historic landmarks. If time allows, spend the evening at your leisure, exploring the city. Overnight stay in Kampala.

15th Day: Kampala - Entebbe - Zanzibar

Breakfast at the hotel.* Afterwards, depart for Entebbe and transfer to the airport to board a flight to Tanzania. Touch down in Zanzibar and transfer to the hotel, ready to begin your laid-back All-inclusive stay on the coast.** Spend the remainder of the day exploring or relaxing at your leisure and getting settled into your surroundings. Overnight stay in Zanzibar.

16th Day: Zanzibar

All-inclusive. Make the most of a free day to enjoy the paradise beaches of Zanzibar. You can take the day to relax on the beach or make the most of your incomparable hotel facilities. We recommend visiting one of the island's historic spice plantations to learn about how Zanzibar got its nickname of 'Spice Island'Overnight stay in Zanzibar.

17th Day: Zanzibar

All-inclusive. Enjoy a day at your leisure on in Zanzibar. Discover the island's heritage as a historic trade centre in Stone Town, go snorkelling to explore the underwater world of the Indian Ocean or simply kick-back on the beach. Overnight stay in Zanzibar.

18th Day: Zanzibar

All-inclusive. Spend another day in this tropical paradise at your leisure to take advantage of the hotel facilities and the surrounding beaches. If you want to venture out of the resort, try the historic Old Fort, located in Stone Town, the capital of Zanzibar. Overnight stay in Zanzibar.

19th Day: Zanzibar - Night on board

Breakfast at the hotel.* It's time to bring an end to your adventures through Africa. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for a flight back to the US. Night on board.
