Situated in the Caribbean sea, Cuba is the perfect destination for anyone looking for a sunny beach holiday combined with a large dose of culture and history. Travel to Cuba always evokes a colonial past, still latent in many of the streets of Havana today. The capital city was one of seven towns on the island to be conquered by the Spanish Crown. Today, this period is still reflected in the architecture of the old town, known as Old Havana. Also to be found on its coast, is the Morro Castle, built to defend against possible invasions.
A trip to Cuba cannot miss Cienfuegos, the city founded by French colonizers and declared a World Heritage site. Not to mention Trinidad, which was one of the most prosperous cities in the Caribbean; Santa Clara, the city taken by Che Guevara; Santiago de Cuba, the second largest city in the country; or Cayo Santa Maria, an island to the north of Cuba with extensive beaches.
