    Discover the ancient Inca civilization in beautiful Peru. Explore Lima, the gastronomic capital and try its iconic ceviche, fall in love with the culture and landscape of Cusco and take the train to iconic Machu Picchu, a true wonder of the world. Next, discover Quito, the oldest capital in South America and try to spot giant tortoises in the Galapagos Islands.

    1st Day: Canada - Lima

    Arrive at your Canadian departure airport ready to check-in for a flight to Lima*. Arrive in Lima, the capital of Peru, situated on the Pacific Coast. Transfer to the hotel**, and spend the rest of the day exploring the city's colonial streets and magical plazas at your leisure. Overnight stay in Lima.

    *If either your outbound or inbound flights depart in the early hours (before 4:00 a.m.) you must arrive at the airport the night before the indicated departure day.

    *If your flight arrives in Lima in the early hours of the morning, and you wish to have your room available before 2:00 p.m, you can book early check-in in the next step of the booking process.

    2nd Day: Lima

    Breakfast at the hotel. Today, enjoy an informative and fascinating city tour of Lima, including its Historic Center and the Santo Domingo Convent. Start by exploring the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro before heading to the Historic Center.

    Visit the impressive Convent of Santo Domingo and walk to the Plaza de Armas to admire the exquisite colonial architecture that surrounds it. Stop in the Parque del Amor, where you can take beautiful photos of the Peruvian coastline. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Alternatively, we recommend taking part in either an optional visit to the Larco Museum* or a dinner at a traditional Peruvian restaurant**. Overnight stay in Lima.

    3rd Day: Lima - Cuzco

    Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for a flight to Cusco. Arrive in Cusco, the former Inca capital, and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure; take this time to acclimate to your new surroundings. Alternatively, we recommend an optional panoramic city tour at night with an included pisco sour workshop*.

    4th Day: Cuzco - Machu Picchu - Cuzco

    Breakfast at the hotel. Today, an exciting day awaits you in Machu Picchu, one of the 7 wonders of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Transfer to the village of Ollantaytambo to travel by train to Aguas Calientes* (Machu Picchu village) and enjoy the beautiful green mountain scenery along the way.

     

    Once there, transfer by bus to the ancient Inca city of the Citadel for approximately a 2:30h visit which may take place in the morning or afternoon depending on availability. Enjoy the spectacular views of this Peruvian treasure built in the 15th century at an altitude of more than 2000 meters. 

     

    Return by bus to Aguas Calientes and, depending on the return train schedule, you will have free time to explore the town at your own pace. Travel by train back to Ollantaytambo, transfer to the hotel and overnight stay in Cuzco.

     

    *The reservation includes a standard category train (Expedition train or Voyager train). You have the option to add a supplement to travel on a higher category train (360º train or Vistadome train) in the next step of the booking process.

    8th Day: Quito - San Cristobal, Galapagos Islands

    Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, transfer to the airport in Quito to board a flight to the Galapagos Islands. Upon arriving at San Cristobal Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. You will then meet with one of our staff members to get briefed on the next few days of your trip including a quick description of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, the capital city of the Galapagos province.

    Later, you will go for a walk with our representative as they give you further insight into the natural treasures of the islands before taking part in a cooking class on the beach where you will learn how to prepare the traditional Galapagos dish of ceviche.

    Breakfast at the hotel. Today, begin your adventure visiting the stunning Loberia Beach for a relaxing start to your day*. To get to the beach, you will first be picked up by a taxi and then hike to your destination where you'll encounter land iguanas, various birds and flora typical of the region. Once at the beach, you can enjoy the view, swim/snorkel among sea lions, and if you're lucky, also spot marine iguanas and turtles.

    Return to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure exploring the island at your own pace. Alternatively, we recommend you take part in our optional half-day tour snorkeling in Isla Lobos**. Overnight stay in San Cristobal.

    *Optional Excursion to Kicker Rock with Snorkeling: Early in the morning sail to the lava formation in the middle of the sea where you will walk around to observe different species of birds that use this rock as a resting place for nesting. From here, enjoy some leisurely time to snorkel and try to catch a glimpse of different shark species (including hammerheads!), turtles, rays and more.

    After this, continue to Manglecito Beach, a white coral beach offering the opportunity to walk and swim in its shallow waters and take in the beauty of this stunning location. Lunch is included.

    You will be able to carry 1 piece of luggage per person weighing a maximum of 5kg. on board the train.

    To access the citadel of Machu Picchu, you can bring a personal bag that does not exceed 40x35x20cm. In case it exceeds the indicated measurements, you will be able to keep it during the visit for a price of approx. 2$ per bag. Please note that it is forbidden to enter with plastic bottles or bags.

    It is the customer's responsibility to send a copy of their passports in time (no less than 55 days before the trip) in order to guarantee the entrance to Macchu Picchu. Note that tickets are subject to a maximum capacity and availability is limited.

    We strongly recommend you consult your doctor regarding the possible effects of altitude sickness before you travel.

    For the flight to Galapagos we will transfer you to the airport 3 hours in advance in order to complete the required formalities.

    Included transfers are to be shared with other travelers. Please also note that drivers often only speak Spanish. 

    The itinerary is subject to changes and alterations due to weather conditions or force majeure.

    Depending on the weather, the public ferry service in the Galapagos Islands can become quite choppy at times. If you suffer from seasickness, we recommend taking precautions to alleviate your symptoms in case of rough seas.

    At the airport Galapagos passengers must present their transit control card (TCC) with their passport and pay the entrance fee to the Galapagos National Park. Cost: US$100 per person.
