    What to see in Tanzania

    Tarangire National Park

    Tourist attractions Tarangire National Park

Visit the Tarangire National Park, named after the river of the same name that crosses it, and discover one of the greatest natural contrasts in Tanzania. Here, the large dry plains coexist with the dense vegetation and the popular Baobab trees. It's river is the only source of water in the area, making it very attractive to the flocks of animals that arrive in the drought period, from July to October. Tarangire is characterised above all by its elephant population, which is the largest in the whole country. The number is said to fluctuate from between 3,000 and 6,000 of the creatures. A safari in the park will offer a closer look. You can also see giraffes, jackals, lions and a great many birds.
