1st Day: US - Mexico City

Arrive at your US departure airport, ready to catch a flight to Mexico City. Touch down in the Mexican capital and shared-transfer to your hotel. Famed for its huge population of more than 9 million people and high-altitude location, Mexico City is the largest city in North America and its incredible Centro Historic dates back to the days of the Aztec Empire. If time allows, spend the evening exploring at your leisure, taking in the breathtaking skyline or enjoying the capital's energetic nightlife. Overnight stay in Mexico City.

*If either your outbound or inbound flights depart in the early hours (before 4:00 a.m.) you must arrive at the airport the night before the indicated departure day.

2nd Day: Mexico City

Breakfast at the hotel. It's time to get to know this megacity with a full-day Mexico City & Teotihuacan tour. Begin at the historic Plaza de las Tres Culturas, the main square within the Tlatelolco neighborhood of Mexico City. This is the site of the last battle between the Aztecs and the Spanish and the fusion of both cultures to create mestizo culture. Continue to the Basilica of Guadalupe, one of the most important religious sites in the country, which houses the cloak containing the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Leave the city and continue to Pachuca to visit the incredible Teotihuacan Archaeological Zone. Known as the city of the gods, here you can admire the impressive Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, see the Palace of the Butterflies and be amazed by the Temple of the Feathered Serpent. After the journey back in time, return to Mexico City to visit the Zócalo and the National Palace as well as the Templo Mayor archaeological zone and the Metropolitan Cathedral. After an action-packed day, return to the hotel and spend the evening relaxing at your leisure. Overnight stay in Mexico City.

3rd Day: Mexico City - Puebla - Oaxaca

Breakfast at the hotel. Leave Mexico City this morning, as you head south towards the colorful city of Puebla, stopping along the way at the Cholula Archaeological Zone, an ancient Mesoamerican site known for its huge pyramid & tunnels. Arrive in Puebla and enjoy a brief visit of the city to soak up the beautiful architecture of its buildings, many of which are adorned with painted Talavera tiles. From here, transfer to the bus station to catch a bus to the southern city of Oaxaca, a journey of approximately 5-hours. Arrive in Oaxaca and transfer to the hotel. The remainder of the day is free to explore this vibrant state capital at your leisure. Oaxaca is one of the most important cities in Mexico and is famed for its well-preserved historic center and cobblestone streets and open-air markets. Overnight stay in Oaxaca.

4th Day: Oaxaca - Overnight Bus

Breakfast at the hotel. The first stop this morning is the Monte Alban Archaeological Zone, founded around the year 800 AD. One of the oldest cities in Mesoamerica, this incredible site is a testament to the true power and splendour of the pre-Columbian civilizations. During the tour, visit several of the most impressive structures including the Astronomical Observatory, the Ball Court, the Palace and the sculpted steles of the Danzantes. Next, head to the historic site of Mitla, known as the 'City of the Dead'. Once a spiritual center of the Zapotecs, this sacred burial site offers an incredible insight into the beliefs, practices and unique architecture of this fascinating era in Mexican history. On the way back to Oaxaca, pay a visit to the famous Tule Tree, said to be more than 2000 years old! It's thought that this ancient tree has the largest trunk in the world. Return to the city and transfer to the bus station to catch an overnight bus to Tuxtla Gutiérrez. Get settled on board and enjoy the journey. Overnight on board.

5th Day: Tuxtla Gutiérrez - San Cristobal de las Casas

Awake this morning in the southern state of Chiapas and the city of Tuxtla Gutiérrez. Disembark the bus and spend some time at your leisure, perhaps enjoying a traditional Mexican breakfast or doing some souvenir shopping. Afterwards, leave the city behind as you are meet your driver and transfer to the incredible Sumidero Canyon, an area of incredible natural beauty just north of the city. Nestled in the dramatic scenery of towering cliffs and lush forests, walk through the canyon and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of this abundant region. Continue your journey eastwards until arriving in San Cristobal de las Casas. Get settled at the hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day to explore the city at your leisure. Located in the Central Highlands region of Chiapas, San Cristobal is one of Mexico's 'magical towns', famed for its incredibly rich architectural beauty and well-preserved historic core. Its cosmopolitan atmosphere and vibrant nightlife make it a joy to explore! Overnight stay in San Cristobal de las Casas.

6th Day: San Cristobal de las Casas

Breakfast at the hotel. Begin the day with a visit to the indigenous villages of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantán. Located just outside of the city these traditional villages are autonomous and preserve their own traditions, languages, beliefs and social organization. Take some time to see the sights and soak up the atmosphere of these unique villages which offer a rare window into traditional living in modern-day Mexico. Afterwards, return to San Cristobal de las Casas and spend the afternoon exploring at your leisure. Why not pay a visit to the local market or grab a cool drink in one of the city's beautiful plazas? Overnight stay in San Cristobal de las Casa.

7th Day: San Cristobal de las Casas - Palenque

Breakfast at the hotel. Leave the city as you depart for the Agua Azul Waterfalls this morning. Located on the Xanil River, these spectacular cascades are situated within a protected area home to rich wildlife and plant species. After admiring the beautiful turquoise colored pools, continue north to Palenque, known for its incredible Mayan ruins. Get settled at your hotel and take some time to relax, ready for a busy day of sightseeing tomorrow. Overnight stay in Palenque.

8th Day: Palenque - Campeche

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, explore the incredible Archaeological Zone of Palenque, considered one of the most important in the Mayan world. Nestled in the heart of the jungle, discover the immense history and beauty of these well-preserved ruins. Once a medium-sized city-state, Palenque was abandoned around the 8th-century. Explore the site and see the Pyramid of the Inscriptions, the Temple of the Foliated Cross, the Temple of the Sun and much more. After the visit, continue northwards along the Gulf of Mexico towards the beautiful walled city of Campeche. Known for its Baroque-era colonial architecture and colourful streets, enjoy a panoramic city tour to encounter the city's most emblematic sights. Transfer to the hotel and get settled in before spending the evening at your leisure. Overnight stay in Campeche.

9th Day: Campeche - Uxmal - Merida

Breakfast at the hotel. A day of exciting sightseeing awaits as you set off for Uxmal, one of the most spectacular archaeological zones in the country! An ancient Maya city, Uxmal dates to between 600-1000 AD and is famous for its beautifully detailed architecture and stone carvings. See the incredible Temple of the Magician, the most impressive pyramid in the complex, and learn more about the significance and history of this legendary lost city. Afterwards, continue to Mérida to enjoy a panoramic tour of the so-called 'White City', the largest urban center on the Yucatan Peninsula. Explore the various structures within the site, including the Pyramid of Kukulkan, the Observatory, the Temple of the Jaguar, the Ball Court and the Sacred Cenote. After uncovering the secrets of the Mayans, shared-transfer to your hotel in Cancún to begin a relaxing stay on an All-Inclusive basis.
