Scandinavia is a geographical and cultural region in the north of Europe, comprising Norway, Sweden and Denmark where Nordic languages, also known as Scandinavian languages are spoken. Some experts maintain that Finland and Iceland should also be included in the definition of Scandinavia which would make Scandinavia a synonym for Nordic countries. For their part, the Baltic countries usually refers to those which border the Baltic sea, these include: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Sweden.
