Arrive at your US departure airport, ready to board your flight* to Beijing. Night on board.

2nd Day: Beijing

Arrive in Beijing, the enormous capital of China, famed for its ancient sites such as the iconic Forbidden City, and as being the gateway to some of the most visited portions of the Great Wall. Transfer to the hotel and overnight stay in Beijing.

3rd Day: Beijing

Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the day exploring Beijing at your leisure, visiting the sights or delving into the fabulous cuisine. Alternatively, we recommend an optional excursion to the Temple of Heaven or to the Hutong district.* Overnight stay in Beijing. 

* Optional Temple of Heaven: Enjoy a tour of the fantastic Temple of Heaven, a religious complex where you could have the opportunity to watch the locals practising Tai Chi in the tranquil surroundings. 

* Optional Hutong Excursion: Visit the traditional Shichahai Hutong neighbourhood and take a rickshaw ride. Hutong refers to the narrow terraced streets made up of charming courtyard garden houses. You have the opportunity to enter a local home and enjoy a home-made dumpling lunch. Finally head to Lama Temple, with free time for shopping.

4th Day: Beijing

Breakfast at the hotel. Set off on an exciting excursion to the best-preserved section of the Great Wall of China. The Juyongguan section is the most visited part of the wall and is the best representation of the former splendour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Of unimaginable length, the wall can be seen from space. On the way, admire the countryside and stop at an impressive Jade Workshop, where artisans work with this precious stone. Arrive at the Great Wall where you have a minimum of two-hours to learn about the history of the wall and enjoy walking on this ancient relic of the past. Lunch. Return to Beijing and stop at the Summer Palace, a former imperial garden from the Qing era. It is home to a vast array of palaces, landscaped gardens and sparkling lakes. Bask in the natural beauty of your surroundings. Return to your hotel. We recommend an optional Golden Mask Show, a beautiful cultural performance.* Overnight stay in Beijing.

5th Day: Beijing

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, enjoy a tour of the most important sights of Beijing including Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Olympic Park. Explore iconic Tiananmen Square, then head to the Forbidden City, an impressive palace complex and home to the former Imperial Chinese Palace for the years spanning from the Ming to the Qing dynasties. It is the world's most visited attraction and showcases immaculate Chinese design and architecture. Afterwards, visit a traditional Chinese Medicine Centre, for an insight into this ancient practice. Lunch. Finally, visit the famous Olympic Park, where you can admire the beautifully architected Bird's Nest Stadium and Water Cube Aquatics Centre. Transfer to the hotel. We recommend an optional Red Theater Kung Fu Show.* Overnight stay in Beijing.

6th Day: Beijing - Xi'an

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the train station for an exciting Bullet Train journey to Xian. Arrive and check-in to the hotel. Afterwards, visit the South Gate Old City Wall, which is the most complete city wall to have survived in China, as well being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Continue to visit the Muslim Quarter and enjoy some shopping time there. In the evening enjoy a delicious Dumpling Banquet for dinner. Overnight stay in Xi'an.

7th Day: Xi'an

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, discover one of China's most iconic sights as you enjoy a visit to the Terracotta Warriors Museum. Approximately 8,000 sculpted figures were buried alongside Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China, and today you can see this once in a lifetime sight for yourself. Each figure is impressively crafted and unique. Be blown away by the intricacy and the sheer number of the figures as you learn about their significance. Also visit the local Terracotta Factory and the Yanyuan Art Museum, to learn about the ancient art of Chinese Calligraphy, and even try it out for yourself. Afterwards, visit the Muslim Quarter and enjoy some shopping time there. Return to the hotel. We recommend an optional Tang Dynasty Show for an evening of entertainment.* Overnight stay in Xi'an.

8th Day: Xi'an

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, enjoy a free day to explore Xi'an at your own pace. Be sure to dive into the local food scene and sample the delights of one of Xi'an's street food markets. Overnight stay in Xi'an.

9th Day: Xi’an - Guilin - Yangshuo

Early breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning, transfer to the airport for a flight to Guilin (6:30 a.m.), located in the south of China and famous for its stunning limestone hills, or karsts, and dramatic natural landscapes. Upon arrival, head to the Yangshuo region and enjoy a boat cruise on the Li River to admire the landscape which unfolds itself like a scroll of Chinese ink painting. Afterwards, head to the natural wonders of Moon Hill and the Big Banyan Tree which has survived the wind and rain over the centuries since it was planted nearly 1500 years ago. Walk along West Street and enjoy the bustling atmosphere. Return to the hotel and, in the evening, we recommend an optional Liusanjie Impression Show, performed in the landscape of the Li River.* Overnight stay in Yangshuo.

Transfer to the hotel and after getting settled, take a walking tour of Nanjing Road and the Bund to get to know Shanghai's diverse neighbourhoods. Return to the hotel and, in the evening, you have the option to enjoy a Huangpu River Cruise.* Overnight stay in Shanghai.

Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the day at your leisure, shopping, exploring the city's sights or simply relaxing in one of the city parks. We recommend an optional complete full-day tour of Shanghai.* Overnight stay in Shanghai.

* Optional Shanghai Full day city tour: The tour will start with a train ride of Meglev train in Shanghai, the first and only commercial rail line of its type in the world. The train is the fastest one in the world with a top speed of 431 kilometres per hour, which is much faster than the Bullet Train in Japan. Then we will have an admission to the Observation Deck on the 88th Floor of Jinmao Tower where you will have the best view of the entire city of Shanghai. Next stop will be A.P Plaza. A.P. Plaza is Shanghai’s biggest market and is famous for “fake branded good”. Located underground, it has more than 1,000 stores where you can find purses, suitcases, watches, jewelries and much more. You will have 2 hours of shopping time to find many bargains you can ever imagine. Final stop will be Xintiandi Area. As a world-class restaurants, business, entertainment, culture, leisure walking Street, Shanghai Xintiandi in Shanghai is an historical and cultural character of the city.

16th Day: Shanghai - Hong Kong

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for a flight to Hong Kong. Touch down in Hong Kong, a vibrant metropolis where east-meets-west and the skyscraper-studded skyline enthrals all who see it! Transfer to the hotel and spend the remainder of the day relaxing at the hotel or taking a stroll along the beautiful bay area. Overnight stay in Hong Kong.

17th Day: Hong Kong

Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the day exploring Hong Kong at your leisure. There's so much to do here, the most difficult part is knowing where to start! Of course, some of the most popular things to do in Hong Kong include taking a boat trip on the famous Star Ferry across Victoria Harbour, soaking up the views from Victoria Peak and visiting Hong Kong Disneyland. Otherwise, why not spend the day exploring Hong Kong's bustling shopping district or diving into the world-famous street food scene? Overnight stay in Hong Kong. 

18th Day: Hong Kong

Breakfast at the hotel. Another free day to explore the sights of Hong Kong! Why not take a trip to Lantau Island to pay a visit to the famous Tian Tan Buddha and soak up the awe-inspiring views of the South China Sea. Alternatively, why not pay a visit to the old fishing village of Aberdeen, to watch traditional fishermen on their Chinese 'junk' boats or head to Stanley Market, the best place in Hong Kong for bargain shopping. Overnight stay in Hong Kong. 



19th Day: Hong Kong - Night on board

Once you receive your invitation letter from us you will be required to go to the Chinese Embassy in person with your passport, a passport photo, invitation letter and an Exoticca Booking Form (provided by Exoticca) to apply for your Chinese Visa. Please apply for your visa as early as possible. The cost is approximately $150.
