1st Day: US - Night on board

Ready for an extraordinary journey through two incredible African countries? Arrive at your US departure airport ready to check in for a flight to Entebbe. Night on board.*

If either your outbound or inbound flights depart in the early hours (before 4:00 a.m.) you must arrive at the airport the night before the indicated departure day.

2nd Day: Entebbe

Touch down in Uganda and transfer to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure, relaxing or exploring the city for a chance to experience the local culture. Relax at your own pace, ready for the adventure that awaits you tomorrow. Overnight stay in Entebbe.

3rd Day: Entebbe - Queen Elizabeth National Park

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, set off towards Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the most biodiverse habitats on earth! Encompassing landscapes of open savannah, rainforests, crater lakes and papyrus swamps this national park is home to almost 100 mammal species. These include lions, hippos, hyenas, leopards, elephants and a diverse range of monkeys and baboons! Arrive at the camp and spend a little while getting settled before heading out on an afternoon boat trip on the Kazinga Channel, for your first insight into the rich wildlife of Uganda! Watch the local hippos cooling themselves in the water as buffalos linger in the shallows. Spot unique birdlife such as pelicans, cormorants and the African jacana as you cruise along the scenic waterway. Return to the camp and enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure. Overnight stay in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

4th Day: Queen Elizabeth National Park - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Breakfast at the camp. This morning we recommend an exciting chimp-tracking excursion in the Kalinzu Forest* or simply spend some time at your leisure to contemplate the stunning biodiversity and wildlife of this region! In the afternoon, depart Queen Elizabeth National Park, headed for Kisoro, passing by the beautiful scenery of verdant hills and valleys of Kabala along the way. Arrive at the lodge, on the shores of Lake Mulehe, close to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and take in the spectacular views of the Virunga Volcanoes. Overnight stay at the lodge. 

Optional Chimpanzee Tracking Excursion: Head to the Kalinzu Forest in search of chimpanzees! Home to around 300 chimpanzees, wander through this rich ecosystem and, with luck, see playful chimpanzees in their natural habitat!

5th Day: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Early breakfast at the lodge. Awake early to set off on an unforgettable Gorilla tracking excursion in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Take all the necessary gear with you as you head into the mythical forests of Bwindi for one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth! Just 650 mountain gorillas are left in the world, so tracking can take between 2 and 6 hours, but it is well worth the effort. Professional park guides will guide you through the forest, explaining the lifestyles of the gorilla families and pointing out interesting flora and fauna. Once you've tracked down your group of gorillas, watch in awe as these majestic animals go about their daily lives, grooming, feeding and interacting with each other. It is an unforgettable experience to see gorillas in the wild! Trek back to base and return to the lodge, filled with unforgettable memories of today's wildlife encounters! In the afternoon you have the chance to enjoy a range of optional activities at the lodge, such as a village walk or boat trip on Lake Mulehe, which can be arranged and paid for at the time. Overnight stay at the lodge.

6th Day: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Breakfast at the lodge. Depart the magnificent landscapes of Lake Mulehe, headed for Kampala. Along the way, stop at the equator line where you can stand with one foot in each hemisphere! Arrive in Kampala, the Ugandan capital, and transfer to the hotel. Nestled on the shores of Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa, Kampala is home to a number of brilliant museums and historic landmarks. If time allows, spend the evening at your leisure, exploring the city. Overnight stay in Kampala.

7th Day: Kampala - Entebbe - Johannesburg

Breakfast at the hotel.* Afterwards, depart for Entebbe and transfer to the airport to catch a flight to the South African city of Johannesburg. Arrive in Johannesburg and transfer to the hotel. Spend the remainder of the day at your leisure, perhaps exploring the city and its diverse and vibrant neighbourhoods. Why not get stuck into Jo-burg's food scene, with its pop-up eateries, trendy bars and restaurants? Furthermore, the city is a real cultural hub and a great place to catch live music performances! Overnight stay in Johannesburg.

* Please note: Depending on timings, the flight from Entebbe to Johannesburg may leave very early in the morning, with the transfer to the airport taking place before dawn. In which case, breakfast will not be included today.

8th Day: Johannesburg - Mpumalanga - Kruger

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer by road to Mpumalanga. You're headed for Kruger, home to some of the most impressive wildlife in South Africa. Along the way, see some of the most iconic sights of the Panorama Route such as the Blyde River Canyon and the Three Rondavels (entrance fees not included). You're sure to fall in love with the natural beauty of South Africa's landscapes! * Arrive and transfer to the hotel to check in. Spend the evening relaxing at your leisure, ready to explore the wilds of Kruger in the morning! Dinner and overnight stay in Kruger.

Please note: Today's journey takes approximately 7-8 hours by road and includes stops along the way for lunch (at own expense) and sightseeing. There will be no accompanying guide for this journey so take the opportunity to enjoy the passing landscapes as you travel through some of the most spectacular regions in South Africa.

9th Day: Kruger National Park

Adventure awaits as you set off on a full-day 4x4 game drive in Kruger National Park. Begin the day with an early morning safari in the southern area of the game reserve with breakfast on the go. This game viewing area is known as the 'Southern Circle' and is renowned for its populations of rhinos and lions. Continue with an afternoon game drive in Kruger National Park and discover the spectacular diversity of animals in one of the world's largest game reserves. Remember to bring comfortable shoes, warm and rainproof jackets, a sunhat and protection and cameras to capture the beautiful wildlife! As the day draws to a close, return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Kruger.

10th Day: Kruger National Park

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a day at your leisure to explore the beautiful natural landscapes of Kruger and the White River area. 11th Day: Kruger - Johannesburg - Cape Town

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer by road back to Johannesburg, stopping to see the exterior of the Union Buildings in Pretoria, the official headquarters of the South African government. * Arrive in Johannesburg and transfer to the airport to catch a flight to Cape Town. Arrive in Cape Town, known as the 'Mother City', and transfer to the hotel. Spend the remainder of the day exploring Cape Town's vibrant neighborhoods and beautiful harborfront at your leisure. Overnight stay in Cape Town.

Please note: Today's journey takes approximately 7-8 hours by road and includes stops along the way for lunch (at own expense) and sightseeing. 12th Day: Cape Town

Breakfast at the hotel. Get to know Cape Town today with a hop-on hop-off bus tour ticket! South Africa's capital combines cosmopolitanism, culture and architecture and is surrounded by jaw-dropping natural landscapes. With the hop-on and hop-off ticket, you can visit over 30 stops and tick off some of the most remarkable attractions in the 'Mother City'. Afterwards, use your Table Mountain Cableway ticket to ride to the top of legendary Table Mountain! From here, take in the spectacular views across the city and the Cape Peninsula.* Return to the hotel at your leisure and spend the evening exploring Cape Town's eclectic restaurants and vibrant nightlife! Overnight stay in Cape Town.

Please note: the Table Mountain Cableway in Cape Town will be closed for maintenance from the 25th of July until the 28th of August 2022. If your trip coincides with these dates, you will enjoy an included Sunset Cruise instead and your included Hop-On Hop-Off bus tickets will still enable you to visit the lower station of the cableway if you wish.
