1st Day: US - Night on board

Arrive at your US departure airport, ready to board your flight* to Beijing. Night on board.

* If either your outbound or inbound flights depart in the early hours (before 4:00 a.m.) you must arrive at the airport the night before the indicated departure day.

2nd Day: Beijing

Arrive in Beijing, the enormous capital of China, famed for its ancient sites such as the iconic Forbidden City, and as being the gateway to some of the most visited portions of the Great Wall. Transfer to the hotel, and, depending on your arrival time, spend the rest of the day exploring at your leisure. Overnight stay in Beijing.

3rd Day: Beijing

Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the day exploring Beijing at your leisure, visiting the sights or delving into the fabulous cuisine. Alternatively, we recommend an optional excursion to Tiananmen Square & the Forbidden City.* In the evening you have the opportunity to enjoy an authentic Golden Mask Show.** Overnight stay in Beijing. 

* Optional Full-Day Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City Excursion: Explore the iconic Tiananmen Square to then head to the Forbidden City, an impressive palace complex and home to the former Imperial Chinese Palace for the years spanning from the Ming to the Qing dynasties. It is the world's most visited attractions and showcases immaculate Chinese design and architecture. Lunch included.

** Optional Golden Mask Show: Set in the Golden Mask Dynasty, a legendary age in China, the story tells the story of a queen, who wears a golden mask, and creates a splendid dynasty. It is a fabulous insight into China's history and arts.

4th Day: Beijing

Breakfast at the hotel. Set off on an exciting excursion to the best-preserved section of the Great Wall of China. The Juyongguan section is the most visited part of the wall and is the best representation of the former splendour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Of unimaginable length, the wall can be seen from space. On the way, stop at a traditional Chinese Herbal Institute to learn about the ancient practice of Chinese medicine. Arrive at the Great Wall where you have time to learn about the history of the wall and enjoy walking on this ancient relic of the past. On the way back, admire the countryside and stop at an impressive Jade Workshop, where artisans work with this precious stone. After lunch, return to Beijing and stop at the famous Olympic Park, where you can admire the beautifully architected Bird's Nest Stadium and Water Cube Aquatics Centre from outside. Return to the hotel and in the evening, we recommend an optional Peking Duck dinner.* Overnight stay in Beijing.

5th Day: Beijing - Wuxi

Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the morning at your leisure. We recommend an optional excursion to the Temple of Heaven and a traditional Hutong.* In the afternoon transfer to the railway station to board a fast train to Wuxi with 2nd-class seats. Arrive in Wuxi, sits on the banks of Taihu, one of China's largest freshwater lakes and home to beautiful natural landscapes. Transfer to the hotel and overnight stay in Wuxi. 

* Optional Temple of Heaven & Hutong Excursion: Begin the tour with a visit to the Chinese Herbal Institute Tong Ren Tang to learn about traditional Chinese medicine, before heading to the Temple of Heaven, a religious complex where you could have the opportunity to watch the locals practising Tai Chi in the tranquil surroundings. Afterwards, take a rickshaw ride around the Hutong neighborhood, composed of narrow terraced streets lined with charming courtyard garden houses. Here you have the unique opportunity to enter a local home and enjoy a home-made lunch including tradtional Beijing Fried Sauce Noodles.

6th Day: Wuxi - Suzhou

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, enjoy an informative tour of Wuxi, including beautiful Lake Lihu, part of the larger Lake Taihu, famed for its abundant freshwater fish and crabs. Next, visit the Fresh Water Pearl Farm, to see how these precious natural jewels are harvested. Lunch included. Continue to Lingshan Grand Buddha, a Buddhist park famous for the world's largest bronze Buddha statue, which measures 88 metres in height. Enjoy the spiritual attractions such as the Brahma Palace, Five Mudra Mandala, Xiangfu Temple and many other Buddhist sites. Continue to the ancient water city of Suzhou. Arrive, transfer to the hotel and overnight stay in Suzhou. 

7th Day: Suzhou - Hangzhou

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, discover the exquisite gardens and historic heritage of Suzhou with a city tour. Visit the 500-year-old Lingering Garden, an artistic masterpiece considered one of the top four gardens in the country. Next, visit Suzhou Silk Factory, the largest in the country, to discover the mysteries of silk processing. After lunch we recommend an optional cruise on the ancient canals of the city.* Continue to Hangzhou by bus, described by Marco Polo as "the most beautiful and magnificent city in the world". Arrive in Hangzhou, the capital of China’s Zhejiang province, and transfer to the hotel. In the evening we recommend an optional Romance of the Song Dynasty Performance.* Overnight stay in Hangzhou.

* Optional Suzhou Canal Cruise: Cruise on the ancient canals of Suzhou, considered the 'Venice of the East', to uncover the true daily lives of the locals.

** Optional Romance of the Song Dynasty Performance: This is a performance celebrates the long and splendid culture of the region. Songs, dances, opera, acrobatics and stunts are integrated in this performance to present Hangzhou's rich ancient civilization and remarkable customs.

8th Day: Hangzhou - Shanghai

Breakfast at the hotel. Hangzhou has long been considered the paradise city of China, praised for its myriad canals and waterways, lush rolling hills, fragrant fields of Longjing tea, spectacular pagodas, temples and pavilions and famous West Lake. Visit the beautiful West Lake, admiring the beauty of the city's centrepiece. We recommend an optional boat ride on its serene waters.* Next, enjoy a fascinating tour of Meijawu Tea Plantation, one of the most important Longjing tea producers in China. Be amazed by the lush scenery and learn about tea culture in China. Lunch and depart towards Shanghai. Arrive and transfer to the hotel. In the evening, we recommend an optional Chinese Acrobatics Show.** Overnight stay in Shanghai.

** Optional Acrobatic Show: Experience one of the world's oldest performing arts as you are immersed in an evening of culture and entertainment.

9th Day: Shanghai

Breakfast at the hotel. Begin the day with a walking tour of the Bund, famous for its colonial, European-style architecture. Capture the history of the city before visiting the Shanghai Museum, home to a huge collection of impressive Chinese art. Next, don't miss out on the opportunity to take an exhilarating Maglev Train Ride.* Lunch and continue to a Silk Embroidery Exhibition Centre, to admire the intricacies of Chinese embroidery, before visiting the City God Temple Bazaar, composed of speciality stores, selling traditional Chinese arts and crafts, medicine and souvenirs. Return to the hotel. In the evening you have the option to end your Chinese adventure with a Huangpu River Cruise with dinner.* Overnight stay in Shanghai. 

* Optional Maglev Train Ride: Experience the speed of the world's fastest commercial train line onboard the amazing Maglev Train, which operates through magnetic resistance.

** Optional Huangpu River Cruise: View the city's skyline from the comfort of the river cruiser as you enjoy an evening of spectacular views.

10th Day: Shanghai - Kuala Lumpur

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for your flight to Kuala Lumpur. Arrive in Kuala Lumpur and transfer to hotel. This federal capital and largest city in Malaysia embraces modernity with its skyscrapers whilst still retaining its most traditional customs and religions. It's known for its high-end restaurants, exquisite cuisine, British-colonial landmarks and a charming urban environment. Spend the day discovering the city at your leisure. Overnight stay in Kuala Lumpur.

11th Day: Kuala Lumpur

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, set off on a half-day tour through the city of Kuala Lumpur. Discover the most emblematic symbols of the city such as the Petronas Towers, once the tallest buildings in the world, the Royal Palace, the Lake Gardens, the National Mosque, the Independence Square and the National Museum * which houses collections about the history and culture of Malaysia. Finally, explore a Craft Centre and the Cocoa Boutique. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore at your leisure. We recommend heading to one of the many high-end shopping malls for a taste of Malaysian retail therapy. Overnight stay in Kuala Lumpur.

12th Day: Kuala Lumpur - Denpasar - Benoa

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for a flight to Bali. Arrive and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy your beautiful surroundings. Benoa is located in the south, in a quiet coastal resort on the Nusa Dua peninsula, and is the perfect place to relax, with idyllic beaches and lush surroundings. Overnight stay in Benoa.

13th Day: Benoa

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a day at your leisure, basking in the Balinese sunshine or exploring at your own pace. We recommend an optional city tour of Denpasar to discover the unique and diverse atmosphere of the city, which fuses traditional Balinese culture and modernity.* Overnight stay in Benoa.

Optional Denpasar City Tour: Explore Badung Traditional Market, for a taste of the local culture and delve into the spiritual side of the city at Jagatnatha Temple. Learn more about the island at the fascinating Bali Museum and admire the Bajra Shandi Monument, a monument dedicated to the struggles of the Balinese people throughout history. (Min. 2 pax)

14th Day: Benoa

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day. We recommend visiting the Uluwatu Temple, one of the most emblematic monuments of Bali, located on top of a cliff surrounded by coastal forest. It is an unmissable experience to contemplate the beautiful sunset over the Indian Ocean from this viewpoint. Consider enjoying one of our optional excursions.* Overnight stay in Benoa.

* Optional Nusa Lembongan Snorkeling Excursion: Set off to Nusa Lembongan around 8:00 a.m. for an exciting day of snorkelling in the warm, abundant waters. Enjoy an included lunch on the boat and discover the rich marine life in the open waters. All snorkelling equipment is provided. (Min. 2 pax)

15th Day: Benoa

Breakfast at the hotel. A day at your leisure to continue enjoying the idyllic white sand beaches of Benoa, perfect for a walk along its extensive shoreline and a swim in its crystal clear warm waters. Overnight stay in Benoa.

* Optional Sunset Dinner Cruise: Spend a tropical evening onboard a boat whilst taking in the spectacular sunset and enjoying a refreshing cocktail and international buffet. A live cabaret show on board will keep you entertained as you cruise away the evening. (Min. 2 pax)

16th Day: Benoa - Denpasar - Kuala Lumpur

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to Denpasar airport for a flight back to Kuala Lumpur. Arrive in Kuala Lumpur and spend your final evening soaking up the atmosphere of the bustling night markets or simply unwinding at your leisure. Overnight stay in Kuala Lumpur. 

17th Day: Kuala Lumpur - Night on board

Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport to board a flight back to the US.* Night on board.

IMPORTANT: In order to receive your invitation letter for your Chinese Visa (mandatory) it is important that all of your details and names are given to Exoticca exactly as they appear on your passport. Once you receive your invitation letter from us you will be required to go to the Chinese Embassy in person with your passport, a passport photo, invitation letter and an Exoticca Booking Form (provided by Exoticca) to apply for your Chinese Visa. Please apply for your visa as early as possible. The cost is approximately $150.

On March 3rd 2022, the Day of Silence or 'Nyepi' is observed in Bali as part of the Hindu New Year celebrations. It is traditionally a day of meditation and therefore, no activities are allowed, everything is closed and it is not permitted to go outside on this special day.
