1st Day: US - Cartagena

Ready to experience the colourful culture and immense natural beauty of Colombia? Head to your departure airport to catch a flight* to Cartagena. Touch down in Cartagena and transfer to the hotel. Cartagena sits on the Caribbean coast and is one of the main ports in Colombia. It's a vibrant city with a plethora of quirky bars and eateries, colourful streets and leafy plazas, perfect for exploring! Overnight stay in Cartagena.

*If your inbound flight depart in the early hours (before 4:00 a.m.) you must arrive at the airport the night before the indicated departure day.

2nd Day: Cartagena - Santa Marta

Breakfast at the hotel. It's time for a little beach-side bliss. Transfer by road to Santa Marta, situated on the Caribbean Coast and known for its busy port and beautiful beaches, not to mention the outstanding natural beauty of its surroundings. Arrive, transfer to the hotel and take some time to appreciate the sea views. A romantic stroll along the beach is the perfect way to end the day. Overnight stay in Santa Marta.

3rd Day: Santa Marta

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, set off on a tour of Santa Marta to uncover its charming sights and learn more about this unique part of Colombia. Visit the Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, the death place of Simon Bolivar, today a museum, and the fascinating Tayrona Archaeological Museum. See Santa Marta Cathedral and explore the historic centre before returning to the hotel. The remainder of the day is free at your leisure to relax or explore the local area at your own pace. Overnight stay in Santa Marta.

4th Day: Santa Marta

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a day at your leisure in beautiful Santa Marta, soaking up the Spanish-influenced architecture and charming atmosphere of the Old Town or simply relaxing on the beach. We recommend an optional full-day excursion to Tayrona National Natural Park for an unforgettable day of epic natural landscapes.* Overnight stay in Santa Marta.

* Optional Tayrona National Natural Park Cañaveral to Arrecifes Excursion: Set off to the Cañaveral Sector of Tayrona National Natural Park to enjoy an exciting nature hike of approximately 1 hour through the tropical forest trails to the Arrecifes Sector, recognised for its stunning natural beauty. Admire the abundant nature before arriving at a natural pool, the ideal place for a relaxing swim and enjoy the views of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range and the Caribbean Coast.

5th Day: Santa Marta - Cartagena

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, bid farewell to Santa Marta as you transfer back to Cartagena by road, enjoy the scenic landscapes of the Caribbean coast along the journey. Arrive, transfer to the hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure. We recommend watching the sunset from an ocean-side bar with an ice-cool cocktail. Overnight stay in Cartagena.

6th Day: Cartagena

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, get to know the colonial past and colourful present of the city. Set off on a tour of Cartagena, passing through the main neighbourhoods of the city: Boca Grande, Castillo Grande and Manga until you arrive at the majestic Castillo de San Felipe, an important feat in military engineering. Visit the Church of San Pedro Claver and end the tour with a short walk through the walled old town where you can admire its pretty squares, narrow streets and houses with balconies beautifully decorated with flowers. The city's charms are undeniable. Spend the remainder of the day at your leisure. Perhaps you'll head down to the beach for a lazy afternoon or enjoy a Colombian coffee in one of the lively plazas.  Overnight stay in Cartagena.

7th Day: Cartagena - Rosario Islands - Cartagena

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, explore the idyllic Rosario Islands. In the morning, transfer to the pier to board a shared speedboat service to the National Natural Park of the Rosario Islands. Admire the views of the Bay of Cartagena and Boca Chica, before arriving at the idyllic islands and taking the time to enjoy the beach and surroundings. Tuck into a delicious traditional lunch and while away the afternoon upon the pristine beaches of the Rosario Islands. Return by boat to Cartagena and enjoy the remainder of the evening at your leisure. Overnight stay in Cartagena.

8th Day: Cartagena - Quito

Breakfast at the hotel. After an unforgettable getaway in Colombia, it's time to head Ecuador. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for a flight to Quito. Arrive in Quito, the capital of Ecuador and a city famed for its high vantage point in the Andean mountains and its ancient Incan significance. Transfer to your hotel and overnight stay in Quito.

9th Day: Quito - Tena - Amazon

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, set off on a guided city tour to get to know Quito's most emblematic sights. Visit a local market, a number of picturesque plazas and the narrow streets of the city centre. In the afternoon, set off into the Ecuadorian highlands and down into the rainforest, headed for Tena, in the Amazon. Continue through verdant landscapes towards the lodge, in the heart of the jungle. Arrive in time for dinner and enjoy a night-walk to admire the nocturnal wildlife as the rainforest comes to life after sundown. Overnight stay in the Amazon.

10th Day: Amazon

Enjoy an early breakfast before setting off for a wildlife walk through the primary and secondary rainforest of the Amazon. Look out for tropical wildlife and appreciate the sheer scale and beauty of the jungle. Return to the lodge for lunch before enjoying the afternoon at your leisure with the opportunity to join in optional Amazon activities organised at the lodge. However you choose to spend the remainder of the day, simply taking in the amazing natural environment and listening to the cacophony of wildlife sounds is sure to be a memorable experience. Dinner and overnight stay in the Amazon. 

11th Day: Amazon - Tena - Middle of the World - Quito

After breakfast at the lodge, return to Tena and continue your journey, heading back towards the capital. Along the way, visit the Middle of the World Monument, on the equator, where you can stand with one foot in each hemisphere! Continue to Quito and transfer to the hotel. Get settled before enjoying the remainder of the evening at your leisure, exploring the old town if time allows. Overnight stay in Quito.

12th Day: Quito

Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the day in Quito at your leisure, exploring the city or simply taking some time to enjoy the beautiful climate and natural environment. We recommend enjoying our excursion to Quilotoa* or booking our Pack of 3 Excursions.** Overnight stay in Quito.

* Optional Quilotoa Excursion: Set off through the Andean Mountains, passing by the snow-capped peaks of Tungurahua and Chimborazo. Stop at a local market for a taste of the Andean culture and visit Quilotoa Crater Lake, known for its everchanging color, depending on the sun and clouds.

** Optional Experience Ecuador - Pack of 3 Excursions: Experience Ecuador to the fullest with this pack of three excursions. Visit the famous Quilotoa Crater Lake on an excursion through the Andean Mountains to discover the local culture and natural wonders of the Andes. In the Galapagos Islands, enjoy an authentic cooking class on Playa Mann in San Cristobal, known for its population of sea lions, to learn the secrets of the local cuisine. Finally, take a tour of Puerto el Morro in Guayaquil to visit a natural dolphin reserve, accompanied by a professional biologist guide.

13th Day: Quito - Galapagos (San Cristobal)

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart to the airport this morning for a flight to the Galapagos Islands, a true wonder of nature known for its immense biodiversity! San Cristobal is the easternmost Galapagos island and is home to a rich array of unique wildlife, such as blue and red-footed boobies, marine iguanas and Galapagos sea lions. It's also the island that Charles Darwin first explored during his research into the islands. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and get comfortable before setting off on a brief afternoon tour of Baquerizo Moreno, the capital of the Galapagos Province. Explore this quaint coastal community and get to know its most important sights. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to relax before your adventure continues tomorrow. Overnight stay in San Cristobal.

14th Day: Galapagos (San Cristobal)

Breakfast at the hotel. Set off on a full-day tour of San Cristobal to explore the delights of the island. Visit Galapaguera, home to amazing giant tortoises and observe diverse species of sea birds from Puerto Chino. The white sand here is perfect for a short rest before continuing to La Loberia, home to a large colony of sea lions who can be seen resting on the rocks. Return to your hotel and overnight stay in San Cristobal.

15th Day: Galapagos (San Cristobal)

After breakfast at the hotel, the day is free for you to explore the Galapagos at your own. Overnight stay in San Cristobal.

16th Day: Galapagos (San Cristobal) - Guayaquil

Breakfast at the hotel. Head back to the mainland, with a flight from San Cristobal airport. Arrive in Guayaquil, and join a shared-transfer to your hotel in the city centre. Guayaquil is the largest city in Ecuador and is located on the Pacific Coast. Later, enjoy a walking tour of the city, visiting the Malecon, Paque Iguanas and Las Peñas neighbourhood. Overnight stay in Guayaquil.

17th Day: Guayaquil

Breakfast at the hotel. The day is at your leisure to do some last-minute souvenir shopping, relax in the arty neighbourhood of Santa Ana Hill. Overnight stay in Guayaquil.

18th Day: Guayaquil - Night on board

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for a flight back to the US. Night on board.

  • All foreign travelers age 16 and older who are not residents of Ecuador must present a negative RT-PCR test taken a maximum of 72 hours prior to travel, counting from the time the sample was taken, AND present a vaccination card showing the traveler received a complete series of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to travel.
  • Foreign travelers between the ages of 2 and 16, as well as residents of Ecuador age 2 and older, do not require a vaccine, but must present a negative RT-PCR test taken a maximum of 72 hours prior to travel, counting from the time the sample was taken.

* Documentation of the internal flights will either be available in the "My bookings" section in your "Customer Area" 14 days before your trip or delivered to you on arrival at your destination. It is essential to fill in the passport information correctly for each passenger in the given boxes at the end of the reservations process.
