What to see in Puerto Rico
On a tour package to Puerto Rico, you can not miss a visit to its capital: San Juan, a colonial city on the seafront whose castle of San Felipe was one of the most important Spanish military enclaves in the Caribbean. Although this was not the only defensive system in the city. Also open to the public is the castle of San Cristóba.
Both buildings are currently museums where you can learn about the history of the city after the conquest of Columbus. Its old town, known as Old San Juan, still holds within its small streets the colonial architecture of the time. These small buildings, painted in multiple colours, are one of the main attractions of the city that reflect the warmth and joy of its people.
This is where you will find some of the best-known shops, restaurants and leisure activities in the city. Other points of interest of San Juan de Puerto Rico is the Museum of the Americas, the Museum of Art and History, as well as the Cathedral of San Juan Bautista. An area of beaches where you can rest and take a refreshing swim is Isla Verde, where the namesake park is located.
