Itinerary
Discover the wild side of Uganda and South Africa! Start your adventure in Entebbe, spot wildlife in Queen Elizabeth National Park and explore the depths of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park as you track majestic mountain gorillas! Head to vibrant Johannesburg, spot the Big 5 on safari in Kruger National Park, fall in love with cosmopolitan Cape Town and take in the views from Table Mountain!
Ready for an extraordinary journey through two incredible African countries? Arrive at your UK/Ireland departure airport ready to check in for a flight to Entebbe. Night on board.*
* If either your outbound or inbound flights depart in the early hours (before 4:00 a.m.) you must arrive at the airport the night before the indicated departure day.
Touch down in Uganda and transfer to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure, relaxing or exploring the city for a chance to experience the local culture. Relax at your own pace, ready for the adventure that awaits you tomorrow. Overnight stay in Entebbe.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, head to the incredible Queen Elizabeth National Park, by road. The park boasts one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game park or reserve in the world, from the open Savannah to the rainforest, the dense papyrus swamps and brooding crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward. Once you arrive at the park, enjoy an exhilarating game drive where you will have the unique opportunity to encounter the almost 100 species of mammals and 606 bird varieties in their natural habitat. Keep a look out for the Black Chested Eagle, Olive Baboons, lions, hippos, buffaloes, leopards, Spotted Hyena and elephants among many others! Overnight stay in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Breakfast at the camp. This morning, you can choose between two available activities! You have the option of going for a chimp tracking excursion* in Kalinzu Forest, or set-off on a game drive where you can explore the park further and spot the animals most active during morning time. Enjoy time after your morning activity to relax and take in your surroundings. In the afternoon, enjoy an exciting boat trip along the Kazinga Channel where you’ll be sure to spot some of the local wildlife. Hippos huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, buffalos hang-out in the shallows and an enormous variety of birds grace the grasses on the shores. Bird enthusiasts, keep a lookout! Great White and Pink-Backed Pelicans, Great and Long-Tailed Cormorants, Open-Billed Stork, African Jacana, Malachite and Pied Kingfishers are commonly seen. To round up this thrilling day, finish with a mini game drive and then head to the lodge for the night. Overnight stay in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
* Optional Chimpanzee Tracking Excursion: Head to the Kalinzu Forest in search of chimpanzees! Home to around 300 chimpanzees, wander through this rich ecosystem and, with luck, see playful chimpanzees in their natural habitat!
Breakfast at the camp. This morning, bid farewell to Queen Elizabeth National Park and set off for the town of Kisoro, passing Kabale on the way. Enjoy the beautiful natural scenery of hills, valleys and terraced farming, landscapes unique to this area, before arriving at your destination in the afternoon. The lodge sits on the shores of Lake Mulehe, overlooking the Virunga Volcanoes near Kisoro in the southwest, a sight of sheer beauty to behold. Get a good night's rest, ready for your exciting gorilla tracking adventure in the morning! Overnight stay in Bwindi Forest National Park.
Early breakfast at the lodge. Awake early to set off on an unforgettable Gorilla tracking excursion in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Take all the necessary gear with you as you head into the mythical forests of Bwindi for one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth! Just 650 mountain gorillas are left in the world, so tracking can take between 2 and 6 hours, but it is well worth the effort. Professional park guides will guide you through the forest, explaining the lifestyles of the gorilla families and pointing out interesting flora and fauna. Once you've tracked down your group of gorillas, watch in awe as these majestic animals go about their daily lives, grooming, feeding and interacting with each other. It is an unforgettable experience to see gorillas in the wild! Trek back to base and return to the lodge, filled with unforgettable memories of today's wildlife encounters! In the afternoon you have the chance to enjoy a range of optional activities at the lodge, such as a village walk or boat trip on Lake Mulehe, which can be arranged and paid for at the time. Overnight stay at the lodge.

Arrive at your destination in the evening, transfer to the airport, board your flight to the South African city of Johannesburg. Arrive in Johannesburg and transfer to the hotel. Spend the remainder of the day at your leisure, perhaps exploring the city and its diverse and vibrant neighbourhoods. Why not get stuck into Jo-burg's food scene, with its pop-up eateries, trendy bars and restaurants? Furthermore, the city is a real cultural hub and a great place to catch live music performances!
