British trails: From London to Loch Ness

Arrive in London and self transfer* to the hotel.** You can admire the city landmarks and streets at your leisure. This will be your opportunity to take pictures of the most emblematic sites like Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. Overnight stay in London.

Breakfast at the hotel. You'll leave London behind, and your guide will take you to the historic university town of Cambridge. You’ll stroll its beautiful streets, enjoying the riverside views and its iconic landmarks such as King’s College Chapel and the “Backs”, a series of colleges alongside the River Cam.

You will then visit the Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial, dedicated to American servicemen who fought in WWII, a peaceful yet poignant place to reflect on history. Afterward, we travel north to Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire to discover its secrets and mysteries. You’ll end your day in the cultural city of Sheffield, where you’ll have free time to enjoy its vibrant art scene, green spaces and historic sites. Overnight stay in Sheffield.

Breakfast at the hotel. You’ll leave Sheffield behind on your way to York, known for its Roman roots and Viking past. On your walking tour, you’ll explore the narrow, cobbled streets and the famous Shambles medieval shopping district. Your tour finishes at one of the largest Gothic cathedrals Europe has to offer: York Minster.*

We will then head west to the city of Liverpool, the birthplace of The Beatles and known for its rich maritime history, stunning waterfront, and dynamic arts and cultural scene. A panoramic tour will take you to Royal Albert Dock, The Cavern Club, and the impressive Liverpool Cathedral. Music lovers will have the option to visit The Beatles Museum*. You’ll then enjoy some free time to experience the city nightlife and music history. Overnight stay in Liverpool.

Breakfast at the hotel. Be ready to visit the birthplace of William Shakespeare: Stratford-upon-Avon. Take a stroll along the river and admire the city's literary history and enchanting Tudor architecture.

The journey continues south to Birmingham, known for its eclectic architecture, vibrant arts scene, and shopping districts such as the Bullring. You’ll enjoy a panoramic tour of the city, taking in landmarks like Victoria Square, Library of Birmingham, and the Jewellery Quarter. You’ll then have free time to take a relaxing walk alongside the canal before choosing among the various restaurants to enjoy a traditional English dinner. Overnight stay in Birmingham.

Breakfast at the hotel. You’ll head to the city of Bath, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its Georgian architecture and ancient Roman Baths. On a walking tour, you’ll explore the charming streets and terraced houses, including The Royal Crescent, The Circus, and Bath Abbey.

From here, you will visit one of the world’s most iconic prehistoric monuments: Stonehenge! You’ll have time to explore the enigmatic stone circle to contemplate and try to uncover its secrets and mysteries. You’ll then head to Swindon for a relaxing evening. Overnight stay in Swindon.

Breakfast at the hotel. We leave Swindon behind for the historic city of Oxford, home of the oldest English-speaking university in the world. You’ll take a tour to explore the bustling streets and admire the medieval architecture and vibrant academic atmosphere. You’ll have time to explore the beautiful grounds of a college in Oxford.*

Afterward, you’ll travel to the city of Windsor, where you will be able to explore at your leisure. You’ll be free to explore its quaint streets, visit the lush Windsor Great Park, or take a scenic walk along the river. Here you will have the opportunity to enter the largest and oldest inhabited castle in the world.* You will then return to London. Overnight stay in London.

Breakfast at the hotel. Today you can enjoy the capital at your leisure. Why not go shopping along Oxford Street or Carnaby Street, stroll along the vibrant South Bank, or visit Buckingham Palace to watch the Changing of the Guards? Arrive in Edinburgh and self-transfer** to the hotel. Once settled, spend the rest of the day exploring the Scotland capital at your leisure. Edinburgh is famed for its charming medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town with neoclassical gardens and buildings. Overnight stay in Edinburgh.

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, embark on an adventure towards the Highlands. En route, you will stop by Stirling, a charming city in central Scotland where you will briefly visit a couple of historical sites and attractions such as the Wallace Monument, arguable the most important landmark of the city. You will have time to explore Stirling at your own pace, ideal for you to grab lunch.

After spending some time in Stirling’s urban and natural beauty, continue north to visit one of Scotland’s most famous exports; whisky. You will tour a working distillery where you will become acquainted with the processes and production and sample a ‘wee dram’. Dinner and overnight stay in the Highlands.

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, make your way towards the west of Scotland for a visit to the beautiful and scenic Isle of Skye, known for its rugged landscapes, medieval castles and picturesque fishing villages. Take this time to appreciate Scotland in its full natural glory.

On the way back to your hotel, you will hop on a brief cruise on Loch Ness for an unforgettable experience! If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of Nessie! Dinner and overnight stay in the Highlands.

Breakfast at the hotel. Get ready to head back down to the south of Scotland to acquaint yourself with its biggest city, Glasgow. En route, stop in Fort Augustus which sits on the impressive 60 mile Caledonian Canal, halfway between Inverness and Fort William and offering spectacular views down Loch Ness.

From here, continue south through the Trossachs and Loch Lomond, the largest loch in the country. Once you have arrived in Glasgow, you will check-in to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight stay in Glasgow.

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, take part in a city tour of Glasgow where you will learn about its history, culture and impressive architecture and stop by some of its most emblematic attractions, including: the Glasgow Cathedral, the Kelvingrove art gallery and more.

From here, enjoy some free time at your leisure to grab a bite to eat. Next, head back to Edinburgh to embark on another city tour where you will familiarize yourself with its top sites, including the Royal Mile and more. Overnight stay in Edinburgh.

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy the entire day at your own leisure; the perfect way to take in the beauty of the city one last time at your own pace. Perhaps this would also be a good time to go shopping for some souvenirs to take back home or stop by the impressive Edinburgh Castle. For dinner, you're invited to an optional experience* called the Spirit of Scotland.
