Touch down in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, known for its dramatic skyline. Transfer to the hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure. Why not explore the oldest parts of the city to admire the colonial-era architecture or head to one of its many street-food spots to try some of their delicious hand-held snacks. Breakfast at the hotel. Afterwards, set off on a sightseeing tour of Kuala Lumpur, to discover the most unmissable highlights of this vibrant and eclectic city. Make a photo stop at the King's Palace, see the historic National Mosque and Railway Station and take a moment to soak up the sights at the National Monument and Independence Square. Enjoy photo opportunities at the Sultan Abdul Samad building and the Selangor Club. Other tour highlights include St Mary’s Church, the world’s tallest free-standing flagpole, Seri Mahamariaman Temple and the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur's famous Chinatown. Continue to the sacred Batu Caves, a holy place for followers of Hinduism. Afterwards, return to the hotel and spend the remainder of the day getting to know the city at your leisure. *Optional Melacca Day Trip with Lunch: Enjoy a historical city tour of Malacca, a UNESCO heritage site where you will experience the multi-cultural heritage of traditional Asian and European colonial influences. Your tour will take a drive-by to the Bukit China or Chinese Hill - the largest Chinese cemetery outside of China. Stop at the foothill to view the Sultan's Well before driving through the Portuguese Settlement. Visit the famous gateway, Porta De Santiago and the ruins of St. Paul’s Church lined with 17th century Dutch tombstones. Next on the list is Red Square - the salmon pink Dutch administrative buildings which today houses the Malacca Museum and government offices. Visit the Christ Church before proceeding for lunch at a local restaurant. Take a stroll along the famous Jonker Street which also houses rows of Malaccan’s style antique shops.
Breakfast at the hotel. Leave Kuala Lumpur behind this morning as you depart for the emerald landscapes of the beautiful Cameron Highlands. Located 1542 metres above sea level, this outstanding area is known for its lush tea plantations and milder, cooler climate. Along the route, pay a visit to the impressive Lata Iskandar Waterfall and a nearby local settlement. Afterwards, continue to your hotel and spend the remainder of the day soaking up the fabulous landscapes and crisp, clear highland air. Overnight stay in the Cameron Highlands.
Breakfast. Today spend your day at your leisure.* The highlands were founded by a British colonialist, so many English traditions remain. Why not visit the rose and lavender gardens and wonder at an extensive array of species that thrive in the high elevation of the Cameron Highlands. Visit the colonial style buildings and try some typical English scones, with jam made from locally grown strawberries and tea from the vast tea plantations. If you’re feeling adventurous, why not discover the magnificent Thompson Falls which are surrounded by pristine natural beauty.
*Optional Mossy Forest Discovery excursion:
The journey begins with a short stop at the Sungai Palas Tea Plantation which is one of the largest plantations in Southeast Asia before driving up to the highest peak of Cameron Highlands. The Arcadia Trail is an enchanting jungle hike where you may encounter interesting plants and animals or observe rainforest birds or beautiful orchids. An interpretive trek into Mossy Forest will reveal some of the exotic floras such as carnivorous Pitcher Plant, wild Ginger, primitive Ferns and wild Orchids. Learn some basic forest survival techniques and other native plants from our experience guide. Cruise down the hill to view the most scenic tea plantation, the Sungai Palas Boh estate. Learn the art of tea making in the factory (Factory is closed on Mon & public holidays). Continue to the last stop at Butterfly Farm. Observe some beautiful species of butterflies including the Raja Brook and various kinds of insects and snakes.
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast set off to Penang, known among other great things, for the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Georgetown, its pristine beaches and its hawker food. En-route stop at the Royal town of Kuala Kangsar and admire its tranquil beauty. Drive around Bukit Chandan and view the exterior of Masjid Ubudiah and its unique architecture. Discover the Royal Palace of the Perak Sultanate Istana Iskandariah, and the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Gallery, with the opportunity to stop and take photos. Continue to visit the Labu Sayong Center where unique shaped pots are made by deft hands and creative inspirations mostly by women. Cross over to Penang via one of the longest bridges in the world. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay in Penang.
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning enjoy a Georgetown City Tour. Start the excursion with a visit to the renowned Reclining Buddha (Wat Chayamangkalaram) the 4th longest in the world. Next, stop at Fort Cornwallis of the English East India Co., where Captain Francis Light landed in 1786. Visit the Clan Jetty where each jetty is named after the surname of the fishermen families that live on it. At the Khoo Kongsi Clan House, you will be fascinated by the intricate carvings on the wall pillars and the roof by master craftsmen from China more than a century ago. After that, visit Kek Lok Si temple, one of the most beautiful & largest Buddhist Temple Complex in Southeast Asia. It is interesting to note that the seven-storey pagoda standing at 30 meters is a mixture of Chinese, Thai and Burmese architecture and craftsmanship. Rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the rest of the city. Overnight stay in Penang.
Breakfast at the hotel. It's time to bid farewell to Penang. Check-out from your hotel and transfer to Penang Airport for your onward flight to the idyllic island of Langkawi. Meet your transfer and head to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Why not discover its idyllic white-sand beaches, crystal clear waters and green rolling forested hills. Overnight stay in Langkawi.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you have the day to enjoy the island of Langkawi at your leisure.* Why not spend the day discovering this incredible paradise teaming with wildlife. The island provides habitat for more than 200 bird species, which you can look out for on a trek through this ancient rainforest. Overnight stay in Langkawi.
*Optional Cable Car & Oriental Village excursion:
After breakfast, set off on your adventure to the Cable Car & Oriental Village. Enjoy the exhilarating 920m long cable car ride to the summit of the famous Mount Mat Cincang. Enjoy spectacular views of the Andaman Sea and the smaller islands of Langkawi. On clear days, one can also see the edge of Thailand in the North and Indonesia towards the South–West. Enjoy the cool air and the highland’s view before proceeding down to the Oriental Village. *Note: Cable car ride is subject to the weather conditions.
The Oriental Village is one of the unique shopping, cultural and culinary destinations. Bold displays of culture, fashion and handicraft with over 470 brands and 17,000 products. The village offers shopping buffs a wide range of international designer labels and local products. Take some time to shop at various outlets and enjoy your choice of cuisine for lunch. *Optional Northern Mangrove Tour: Recognised as a UNESCO Geopark, these mangrove forests play an integral role in protecting the coastline. You may encounter intriguing organisms such as mudskippers, crabs, dragonflies and monitor lizards and amongst the trees are the monkeys, birds like the rare Brown Winged Stork–bill Kingfisher and the amazing birds of prey. If you are lucky, as the boat travels along the river you will see various types of mangrove animals like otters and Long–tailed Macaques. The tour ends with an all–inclusive lunch at a local restaurant.
*Optional Sunset Dinner Cruise: Venturing off on a sunset dinner cruise on a yacht is the perfect way to finish the day. Take an exhilarating trip across the sea to experience the spectacular sight of the tropical sun setting on the Andaman Sea horizon. The cruise includes an open bar and a sumptuous BBQ dinner. You may want to cool off on a net suspended from the boat and enjoy a natural Jacuzzi as you glide through the ocean.
Breakfast at the hotel. Be ready for pick-up at the specified time to transfer to Langkawi Airport for your return flight to Kuala Lumpur. Arrive at Kuala Lumpur Airport and transfer to hotel. The day is at your leisure to explore the shopping districts or check out some of the capital's world-renowned bars and restaurants. Overnight stay in Kuala Lumpur.
Breakfast at the hotel. It's your final day in the Malaysian capital. Today you have the day to enjoy at your leisure. Why not do some last-minute souvenir hunting before your return home, or visit some of the city's landmarks that you may not have got a chance to see during previous days.
