Breakfast at the hotel. Your guide will greet you at the hotel in the morning. Today, embark on a full day excursion to the Snæfellsnes peninsula where you will get to explore the natural wonders of this location that divides the west coast of Iceland into two large bays. Start by visiting the northern part of Mýrar, home to an array of volcanic craters, including Eldborg, the largest one.

Next, head west towards the tip of the peninsula, passing the small fishing towns of Grundarfjörður, Ólafsvík, Rif and Hellissandur. You will also be passing by the Snæfellsjökull National Park, full of interesting geological phenomena and historic sites. Stop at Arrow Mountain or Kirkjufell Mountain, famous for appearing in the TV series Game of Thrones.

Here you will also find a beautiful waterfall called Kirkjufellsfoss. Make a short detour to Djúpalónssandur and take a short walk along a marked path to the lovely black pebble beach. From here, you will drive around the tip of the peninsula at the foot of Snæfellsjökull, a glaciated volcano where the famous novel “The Journey to the Centre of the Earth” by Jules Verne is set in. Visit Þúfubjarg, a spectacular cliff and a nesting colony for many seabirds.

Continue to Arnarstapi and Hellnar to view the beautiful coast and impressive variety of birdlife. Stop by Búðir, a charming little site located on a natural inlet. Return to your hotel and overnight stay in Borgarnes.

About Ireland:

Note: Please keep in mind that the tour has a lot of ground to cover within a short schedule. In order to keep on track, we will be traveling for several hours per day.

The order of the itinerary may change to 2 nights in Dublin at the end of the tour and 1 night at the beginning of the tour. In all cases you will have 3 nights in Dublin in total.

About Iceland:

If travelling with Wizz Air, Easy Jet, or Fly Play, we recommend that you check your luggage online in order to avoid extra fees. The reservation only includes one piece of hand luggage per person (40 cm x 20 cm x 25 cm), which must be placed underneath the seat in front of you on the plane. Additional baggage may be purchased in advance on the airline’s website. Any luggage item larger than the aforementioned dimensions that is not reserved in advance will be subject to additional charges in the airport.

Double beds in Iceland hotels are not always the standard Canadian size and can sometimes be less wide.

**The airport transfers in Iceland are not included. Optional private or shuttle bus transfers can be added as a supplement in the next step of the booking process.

Additional information about Northern Lights: keep in mind that the Northern Lights in Iceland are not guarantee as the unpredictable weather conditions mean we cannot guarantee the excursions will go ahead.

***You will not meet your guide until the day after your arrive in Iceland, when you begin the tour of Reykjavik.

For groups consisting of 2 to 17 people you will not have a tour leader. Instead, your English speaking driver, who is very knowledgeable, will be assisting you with local information.

Tips: we advise to bring good shoes since in winter many sites may be covered in snow as well as their paths. The ground in Iceland can be slippery, wet, or icy. You may want to consider bringing or purchasing a pair of removable spikes (also known as crampons) to place on your shoes to aid with stability and grip. Also, you can bring your swimsuit, even if you don´t plan to swim. You might change your mind once you see the warm steaming lagoon!

In the case of adverse weather conditions, for safety reasons or for any other reasons deemed appropriate, the order and duration of the excursions included in the itinerary may be changed without prior notice.
