2nd Day: Tokyo
You’ve arrived in Japan! Self-transfer* to your hotel in Tokyo for check-in. After settling in, take some time to explore the city’s blend of tradition and modernity at your own pace.
There’s so much to learn and discover in this city, we recommend visiting one of the many food markets where you can taste delicious local flavors at great prices.

3rd Day: Tokyo
This morning is free for you to keep exploring Tokyo. In the afternoon, enjoy your first city tour. You’ll stop at the Imperial Palace Plaza and view the iconic Nijubashi Bridge, flanked by historic stone walls.
Next, visit Tokyo’s oldest temple, Senso-ji, and stroll through Nakamise Street for local snacks and souvenirs. Pass by Kabukiza Theater and the Ginza shopping district on your way to Tokyo Tower’s main observatory, where views of the city and Mount Fuji await from 150 meters up.

7th Day: Kanazawa

Today, head to Hiroshima by train*, a modern city with a powerful past. Although much of it was destroyed in 1945 by the first atomic bomb ever, Hiroshima has been rebuilt into a place of peace and resilience.
We highly recommend using the 5-rail pass we provide, which allows you to take the tram and ferry at no extra cost to reach Miyajima Island, where wild deer roam freely and the Great Torii of Itsukushima Shrine appears to float during high tide. This tour doesn’t include a guide on a daily basis. It is the responsibility of each passenger to self-transfer between hotels and meeting points for activities/excursions and to / from departure points of included transfers.
A number of Japanese cities impose an accommodation tax, which must be paid directly to the hotel.
*You will receive the final documentation of the train transfers 15 days before departure.
*Tokyo to Kanazawa: the local train does not have a fixed schedule. You can choose your train times when exchanging the pass. Ticket exchange instructions will be shared before departure.
*Kanazawa to Kyoto: departs around noon and takes 2 hours.
*Kyoto to Hiroshima and Hiroshima to Osaka: you'll receive a 5-day Kansai–Hiroshima Pass, which covers all travel in the region, including these routes. You can choose your train times when exchanging the pass.
Baggage allowance on the trains is the same as the international flight allowance - there is no weight restriction.
You will receive the train tickets and a document with more details about the ticket exchange information before your departure.
**Non-smoking rooms: unfortunately, hotels in Japan have a reduced number of non-smoking rooms and we can not guarantee you will be allocated one advance. Please note: double beds in Japanese hotels are not always the standard Western size and can sometimes be less wide.
