Moremi & Okavango Safari Adventure

Arrive at Maun Airport, gateway to the Okavango Delta, and transfer to the hotel on the banks of the Thamalakane River. 

Settle in and enjoy the hotel's relaxed riverside setting after your international journey.

The rest of the day is at leisure to relax at the hotel, take in the surroundings or prepare for the adventure ahead. 

Dinner is for your own account and can be enjoyed at the hotel restaurant.

Breakfast at the hotel. 

After breakfast, depart for a full-day Okavango Delta mokoro excursion. Glide through crystal-clear channels by traditional dugout canoe, guided by an experienced poler.

Continue with a guided nature walk on a delta island, where your guide will draw your attention to the delta’s secrets: animal tracks, rare plants, birds, and seasonal wildlife. 

Enjoy a packed lunch surrounded by nature before returning to Maun for an afternoon at leisure.

Set out early from Maun and travel into Moremi Game Reserve for a full-day safari. Explore floodplains, lagoons and woodlands that create habitats for elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, wild dog and birdlife.

Enjoy a packed breakfast and packed lunch at scenic spots within the reserve, making the most of your time in the bush. Return to Maun in the late afternoon, with the evening at leisure.

Today, enjoy a full day of leisure in Maun. Relax, enjoy the hotel facilities or spend time in the gardens.  Take in the peaceful riverside setting and consider Botswana’s natural beauty. 

Those wishing for more adventure can arrange one of several optional activities, including scenic helicopter or light aircraft flights over the Okavango Delta*; a second day's safari in Moremi Game Reserve**; or a guided excursion to local communities***. 

Dinner is for your own account at the hotel restaurant or a nearby dining spot.

*Optional Okavango Delta Scenic Flight: Fly over the Okavango Delta for aerial views of its landscapes and wildlife, with doors-off viewing for photographs and pilot commentary via headset.

**Optional Moremi Game Reserve Full-Day Safari: Return to Moremi Game Reserve for another full-day game drive. Take a second chance to try and experience some of the world's most iconic animals in their natural habitat.

***Optional Maun Cultural Excursion: Explore Maun with a local host, discovering roadside vendors, street art, the local marketplace, traditional dishes and crafts, with an introduction to basket-weaving.

This experience requires good weather and a minimum of 7 travelers. If it is canceled due to poor weather or because the minimum isn’t met, you will be offered a different date, experience, or a full refund.

It is possible to book the Okavango Delta Scenic Flight and Maun Cultural Excursion for the same day. This is not possible for the  Moremi Game Reserve full-day safari.

Enjoy another day at leisure to soak in your surroundings beside the Thamalakane River. You are free to remain at the hotel or choose other activities available in Maun.

Alternatively, for those seeking a truly memorable excursion, a visit to the Ntwetwe Salt Pan* can be arranged.

*Optional Ntwetwe Pan sleep-out:  In the afternoon, travel to the Ntwetwe Salt Pan and experience the shifting golden hour light on this immense salt flat. 

The experience includes a specially prepared three-course dinner before an open-air sleep-out. As night falls, watch a vast canopy of stars unroll and lull you to sleep. Begin the next day with a guided meerkat excursion and a light breakfast before returning to Maun.

After breakfast, set out on a Thamalakane River boat cruise. Drift along and take in the tranquil scenery. Watch for birds, hippos, and other wildlife on the riverbanks.  

Return to the hotel for the rest of the day at your leisure.
