1st Day: UK/ireland - Cairo
Get ready to begin your adventure in Egypt! Make your way to the departure airport to board your flight to Cairo. When you arrive, our local partner will welcome you and assist with your visa process and baggage collection before transferring you to your hotel for check-in. 2nd Day: Cairo
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, travel back in time with an expert Egyptologist as you visit the impressive Giza Pyramids and uncover the secrets of the Sphinx. This fascinating tour reveals how the ancient Egyptians, through incredible feats of engineering, built the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World. During the visit, you’ll also have the chance to explore the National Papyrus Institute to see how this ancient paper was made and decorated.
In the afternoon, you’ll have some free time, with the choice to join one of our optional excursions: a trip to Memphis and Saqqara* or a visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum**. Overnight stay in Cairo.
*Memphis and Saqqara Excursion: Discover Memphis, one of Lower Egypt’s oldest and most important religious cities, where you’ll visit its open-air museum. Then continue to Saqqara, the city’s vast necropolis and site of the earliest pyramid constructions, including the famous Step Pyramid of Djoser.
**Visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum: Explore Cairo’s newest museum, featuring three exhibition zones and over 50,000 artifacts. It also boasts spectacular panoramic views of the Pyramids.

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, you’ll venture on a walking tour through historic Cairo to discover twelve of the most fascinating monuments of Islamic Egypt: mosques, madrasas, complexes, palaces, and even an ancient craft market.

Breakfast at the hotel. Today is free for you to relax and enjoy at your own pace. We recommend joining one of our optional activities: a desert safari, a tour exploring Islamic and Christian Cairo, or a light and sound show at the pyramids***. Overnight stay in Cairo.
*Desert Safari: Discover the Fayoum Oasis, beginning at Lake Qarun to experience local life amidst palm and olive groves. Venture into the desert by 4x4 to Wadi Hitan, the incredible Valley of the Whales, the world’s most important site for studying whale evolution, with many well-preserved fossils visible in the rocks and sand. Enjoy lunch at the Wadi Rayan waterfalls, and try sandboarding on desert dunes.
**Islamic and Christian Cairo Tour: Begin the day at Saladin’s Citadel, a 12th-century fortress offering panoramic Cairo views and housing the stunning Alabaster Mosque.
