2nd Day: Beijing

3rd Day: Beijing
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you’ll visit a Jade Factory to learn about the importance and cultural significance of this stone in China. Then head to the fascinating Great Wall at Juyongguan. Construction on this section began in the 7th century to protect the Chinese Empire from invaders, and it remains a must-see attraction to this day.
Afterwards, enjoy free time to relax or continue exploring at your own pace. We also recommend joining our optional visit to the Shichahai Hutongs with a nighttime tour of Qianmen.* Overnight stay in Beijing.

5th Day: Beijing - Shanghai
Breakfast at the hotel. We will visit the Temple of Heaven, where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties once performed ceremonies to worship the gods. If conditions allow, the guide will show us an area of the park where locals practice tai chi or dance.
Later, we will visit a traditional Chinese medicine center to learn about different treatments and the use of herbal remedies that have been used for thousands of years.
Afterward, we will head to the train station to board the high-speed train to Shanghai. Upon arrival, the guide will accompany us to the hotel for check-in. Overnight stay in Shanghai.

To end the day, we recommend a nighttime cruise** to admire the city lights from the river. Overnight stay in Shanghai.
*Optional full-day trip to Suzhou with boat tour: Travel to Suzhou, one of China’s most famous historic and cultural cities, known as the “Venice of the East.” First, visit the Lingering Garden, showcasing the Chinese skill in blending art, nature, and architecture. Visa Requirements: The requirement to obtain a visa to enter China has been waived for arrivals up to December 31, 2026, for stays of less than 30 days. This new regulation applies only under these specific conditions and for holders of Canadian passports. If you are traveling with a non-Canadian passport or arriving after December 31, 2026, you must apply for a visa.
Invitation letter: Although Canadian citizens are currently exempt from needing a visa to enter China, an Invitation letter will be sent to all bookings 60 days prior to departure. This document is intended for customers who do need to apply for a visa (those with non-Canadian passports or arrivals from 2027 onwards). For this reason, it is crucial that all names and details provided to Exoticca match your passport exactly.
The cost of a Chinese Visa can range from 100 to 300 CAD / person depending on added assistance services, express delivery upgrades, etc. It usually takes around 10 days to get a visa approval.
Mandatory: Please send copies of the passports of all passengers to customers@exoticca.com once you have booked your trip in order for us to process your Chinese Visa Invitation Letter. In the case that your passport number changes between the time of booking and the date of departure, you are required to carry both passports to ensure a smooth check-in process for any pre-purchased services.
Please be advised that it is the traveler's responsibility to follow-up and be aware of any changes in either Visa requirements or entry conditions.
*Your internal flight details will be available no later than 15 days before departure or will be provided at your destination.
