Norway Full Circle: Fjords & Lofoten

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we take a tour of Bergen with a local guide and our tour leader, passing through the Nordnes district, Holberg Port, the New Church, the Institute of Marine Research, or the Witch's Stone to learn about its fascinating history.

We then explore the other side of the peninsula, visiting the Grieg Concert Hall and the Music Pavilion. On our way to Bryggen, we see the picturesque white wooden houses in the Sandviken district, the fortress, St. Mary’s Church, the Bryggen Museum, and conclude at the Hanseatic Wharf.

In the afternoon, we travel along Norway’s southwest coast on an unforgettable journey by land and sea, immersing ourselves in Nordic landscapes and cutting-edge infrastructure. We then head to Halhjem and board a ferry to Sandvikvåg, crossing several islands.

On our way to the hotel, we visit Føyno, where we traverse the famous Bømla Submarine Tunnel. We continue to Årsvågen to board another ferry to Mortavika and make a stop to see the "Sverd i fjell" monument, commemorating the Battle of Hafrsfjord. Arrival at the hotel and overnight stay in Stavanger.

Breakfast at the hotel. Take part in a fascinating guided tour, led by our tour leader, of the historic center of Stavanger where you will acquaint yourself with the city’s top tourist attractions including a stunning panoramic view of the harbor and the ‘Gamle Stavenger’ from the Valbergtårnet viewpoint. Optionally, you can choose to take part in a cruise along the Lysefjord* before your next transfer.

After the tour, you will transfer to Åseral, journey around 3h, known as a renowned ski destination and home to gorgeous natural scenery. Arrive at your hotel for check-in, enjoy dinner and overnight stay in Åseral.

*Optional Cruise Along the Lysefjord: Contemplate the majestic Pulpit Rock on a cruise along the Lysefjord, one of the most impressive fjords in the south of the country, located in a stunning natural setting.

Please note: The menu is fixed in Åseral and consists of fish. If you have dietary preferences or allergies, please notify us in advance.

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we travel east by bus to visit the famous Telemark Canal, a historic waterway in Norway and one of the most iconic in Europe, connecting Skien with Dalen through impressive locks and natural landscapes. Upon arriving in Ulefoss, we take a walking tour of the area, where you can opt to experience this remarkable site from a different perspective with our highly recommended cruise along the Telemark Canal*. If not, you can enjoy views of the area from the bus as we continue to Skien.

After lunch, we visit the exterior of Heddal Stave Church, one of the most impressive wooden churches in the country. We then return to Oslo for accommodation.

*Telemark Canal Cruise: Admire the beautiful natural surroundings of the canal by cruising from Ulefoss to Skien, a 150 km journey where you can enjoy a delicious slice of cake along with coffee or tea.

Important: The visit to the Telemark region is only offered from May 19 to October 5, while the Telemark canal is open for passage. On other dates, you will go straight from Aseral to Oslo where you will have extra time to enjoy this great city independently instead of this activity. If this visit is made, the total journey will be about 7 hours 30 minutes.

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, your adventure continues as you prepare for a domestic flight from Oslo to Evenes. Begin your day with a smooth transfer to Oslo Airport using your pre-purchased Flytoget train ticket, ensuring a hassle-free journey. Once you arrive in Evenes, you'll be greeted by a comfortable Flybus (coach) that will whisk you away to the charming city center of Harstad.

After your transfer, take the opportunity to check into your hotel and unwind. The rest of the day is yours to explore Harstad’s captivating streets, indulge in local cuisine, or simply relax before your next adventure. Overnight stay in Harstad.

Total transfer distance: Oslo to Oslo Airport, approximately 20 minutes by train (50 km). Evenes Airport to Harstad, approximately 1 hour by bus (45 km).

Breakfast at the hotel.  As you journey from Harstad to Svolvær, prepare for a breathtaking exploration of the Lofoten Islands! Set off along a scenic route, where stunning landscapes and coastal views will captivate your senses. Your adventure includes visits to the charming villages of Kabelvåg and Henningsvær, each brimming with picturesque beauty and local culture. Stroll through the quaint streets, savor fresh seafood, and immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of these coastal gems.

Finally, arrive in Svolvær, the vibrant heart of the Lofoten archipelago. Take in the enchanting surroundings and embark on a fascinating guided walking tour. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to relax or explore at your leisure. We also recommend joining our optional activities: an evening motorboat safari* and a Northern Lights & Evening Cruise**. Overnight stay in Svolvær.

*Evening motorboat safari: Dive into the stunning beauty of the Lofoten archipelago on an exciting evening rigid inflatable boat (RIB) safari. Glide through picturesque landscapes, encounter magnificent sea eagles, and take in the iconic mountains and serene beaches.

**Northern lights & Evening cruise: Join us for an enchanting evening cruise from Svolvær, where you'll delve into local fishing stories and history. If the weather allows, we'll launch an underwater drone while our guides look for the stunning Northern Lights. We'll also make a stop at Henningsvær before continuing our journey into Vestfjorden!

Breakfast at the hotel. Prepare to immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes of the central and western Lofoten Islands on a full-day tour. Visit the Lofotr Museum to learn about Viking history and culture. Along the way, stop at the charming Bøstad Museum, the picturesque villages of Leknes and Reine, and the famous Ramberg Beach*, celebrated for its breathtaking scenery. Each stop provides unique insights and photo opportunities for a memorable day in the heart of Lofoten. Overnight stay in Svolvær.

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, participate in the rich culture of the Sami people with a visit to a traditional farm in Sortland. Learn about their customs, reindeer herding, and way of life. After your cultural experience, board a ferry from Fiskebøl to Melbu, where stunning coastal views await.

Upon arrival in Harstad, take time to settle in and explore this charming town. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure, soaking in the beauty and culture of your surroundings! Overnight stay in Harstad.

Total transfer distance: approximately 4-5 hours by bus (200 km) and ferry.

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, embark on a scenic ferry ride from Harstad to Tromsø, keeping in mind that this is a public transportation service, so schedules may vary or be subject to cancellation without notice. Once you arrive in Tromsø, join your tour leader for an engaging walking tour of this vibrant city, rich in history and culture.

After that, you’ll have some free time to explore at your own pace or join some exciting optional activities, like the Evening Snowshoe Hike at Fjellheisen* or the Summer Lights on Mount Storsteinen & Fjellheisen Gondola Ride**. Overnight stay in Tromso.
