I wanted to share my experience from my first trip with Exoticca. I went with them to Peru 3 weeks ago. I honestly was blown away by the trip – everything was super smooth and so organized, and our guides were absolutely fantastic.
With all the different excursions, we had to change hotels four times, but every transition was smooth and completely hassle-free. For each flight, there was always a rep waiting to guide us exactly where we needed to be, which made the whole experience stress-free.

Travelers also mention that booking optional tours during the trip is straightforward, with many saying they could easily pay through card or PayPal invoice links while traveling in Peru.

Machu Picchu Is Consistently Described as the Highlight

Machu Picchu is the destination most frequently mentioned across Exoticca Peru reviews. Travelers regularly describe the site as breathtaking, spiritual, and one of the most memorable places they have visited.

Just got back from an amazing 10-day trip to Peru — and of course, the highlight was Machu Picchu! This was my second trip with Exoticca (we did Greece last year), and once again, they did a fantastic job coordinating everything.

Real traveler moments like this are a big reason why Exoticca Peru reviews often focus on the experience beyond the itinerary itself, sharing memories of Machu Picchu, family trips, local guides, and the ease of traveling through Peru without worrying about the logistics:

Many reviews also highlight the full experience leading up to Machu Picchu, especially the scenic train journey through the Andes mountains, river valleys, and rainforest landscapes. couple in machu picchu

Our trip to Peru was special because reaching Machu Picchu was a lifelong dream and a powerful connection to history and nature. The photo captures the sense of accomplishment and awe I felt being in such an iconic, meaningful place.

The Sacred Valley and Cusco Leave a Strong Impression

Another recurring theme in Exoticca Peru reviews is how much travelers enjoy Cusco and the Sacred Valley. Travelers often mention that seeing the ruins in person exceeded expectations, particularly after traveling through Cusco and the Sacred Valley first.

Machu Picchu was amazing and the train ride from Cuzco was one of the highlights.

Reviews frequently mention the scenery, mountain landscapes, markets, llamas, alpacas, and Incan ruins throughout the region. Travelers often describe Cusco as one of the cultural highlights of the trip because of its historic streets, local restaurants, and nearby archaeological sites.

Plaza de Armas. Cusco Peru. Plaza de Armas is special because it’s not just a park or an open square, it’s the historical, political, social, and cultural heart of the city. Its importance comes from a mix of history, urban design, and community life”

Some travelers also recommend spending extra time exploring the city center, markets, and traditional shops during free time

Lake Titicaca and Colca Canyon Stand Out on Longer Itineraries

Travelers taking longer Peru itineraries frequently mention Lake Titicaca and Colca Canyon among the most memorable parts of the journey. Reviews often describe the floating reed islands on Lake Titicaca as unique cultural experiences, while Colca Canyon is praised for its massive stepped agricultural terraces and dramatic scenery. Several travelers describe these destinations as some of the most surprising highlights beyond Machu Picchu itself.

Superb tour. Lots of long days but it was worth it to take in so many iconic sights. Blessed with blue sky weather to really enjoy the amazing sights and scenery. Stand outs for me were the stepped terracing in Colca Canyon, the reed island settlements on Lake Titicaca, Machu Pichu of course, and Rainbow Mountain

This small floating village in Lake Titicaca welcomed us and shared their amazing way of life with us. This is a unique culture with lovely and warm people. It really stood out as an unexpected highlight of our Peru adventure.”

Travelers Frequently Share Practical Peru Travel Tips

Many Exoticca Peru reviews also include practical advice for future travelers, especially regarding altitude and excursions. Travelers commonly recommend pacing activities during the first days in Cusco and preparing for higher elevations before visiting Rainbow Mountain or other mountain excursions. For mature travelers or those looking for a less demanding alternative, Palccoyo is frequently recommended as a more accessible option to see Peru’s colorful mountain landscapes. Travelers also share useful tips about bringing comfortable walking shoes, using Uber during free time in Lima and Cusco, and carrying a worldwide adapter because Peru uses multiple outlet types.

The altitude in general impacted all of us a little, but not ever to the point of getting sick. I really didn’t want to take anything, but I took Diamox just in case. I didn’t have any negative side effects from it.

In terms of safety, I happened to sit next to a woman from Lima on my initial flight to Peru, and she told me that you needed to be careful in Lima, but in Cusco, the people are so dependent on the tourism that they will readily run after someone who tries to steal from you. Our tour guides also reiterated both of those things. Overall, I would be cautious but not afraid.

Travelers Often Mention the Variety of Experiences Included

Another common point in Exoticca Peru reviews is the variety included within a single itinerary. Travelers mention experiencing modern cities like Lima, historic destinations like Cusco, mountain scenery in the Sacred Valley, cultural traditions around Lake Titicaca, and world famous archaeological sites like Machu Picchu during the same trip. Many reviews describe the experience as a balanced combination of nature, history, local culture, and guided sightseeing. Overall, Exoticca Peru reviews consistently highlight organized itineraries, memorable scenery, cultural experiences, scenic train journeys, and the convenience of exploring Peru through a structured travel package that combines flights, hotels, transportation, and guided tours.

The views were amazing, Machu Pichu should be on everybody’s short list… Sacred Valley was beautiful! Also enjoyed Cusco, the lamas, and the shopping! Everybody was so friendly and Exoticca handled it beautifully.. Looking fwd to Guatemala in Sep!

More Than a Trip, a Shared Journey

One of the themes that appears again and again across Exoticca Peru reviews is the shared experience travelers build throughout the journey. Many travelers describe the trip as more than sightseeing and reviews often mention friendships formed along the way, supportive tour guides, and the feeling of experiencing Peru with people who quickly become part of the adventure itself.
