If you want a desert adventure, the best time to visit Wahiba Sands of the Sharquiya desert, and go on a trip to the beaches of Al Khaluf, is between October and March, as you will have warm but bearable temperatures. April would also be a good month to visit this area of Oman, since you have the advantage of it being the low tourist season.

Summers in this region of the country, and further inland, in the desert are very hot. The thermometer can reach 40ºC during the day, although the temperatures are much lower at nights due to the special conditions of the desert climate.

As we already said, the climate in Salalah is totally different to the rest of Oman, this is mainly due to the wind of the Khareef monsoon. Between June and September, the winds produce a particular phenomenon in this region, instead of torrential rains, as would be normal, a refreshing dew is produced.

The air is also hot and humid, and the vegetation is really exuberant due to the climatic conditions. Therefore, the best time to visit Salalah is all year round. The optimum weather is between October and April, in May and September it continues to be good, as they are months of transition. From June to August the climate is humid thanks to the monsoon, but the temperatures cool down.
